Pierre Simon

I’ve never trusted the Saylor approach. True sovereignty isn't born from holding Wall Street debt wrappers like corporate convertible notes or equity proxies like STRK and STRC—it's built by stepping completely outside their ecosystem.

As the

team highlights below, you can earn 3.5% to 6% APY natively on your stable capital using the USDB BTKN token right on the Spark Network, paid out daily in sats straight to your self-custody wallet.

Normally, a regular family in Europe or the US keeps their $5,000+ holiday fund sitting completely idle in a legacy bank savings account. By switching that exact fund to USDB, they generate a steady stream of roughly 24,000 sats a month (~$15.30 USD).

It’s not about making you rich—it’s about velocity. That $15 a month is easily enough to buy a few free rounds of coffee or a family breakfast at a local Bitcoin-accepting merchant. Your core holiday savings remain perfectly fluid and ready to pay for the vacation, while your passive daily yield directly funds the circular economy over Lightning.

📥 DM me if you want to know exactly how to set this up. 🔄⚡️

#bitcoin #circulareconomy #nostr

Want a practical example of how this circular economy actually could work right now? Look at the native stack:

1️⃣ Earn Natively: Spend a few minutes playing puzzle apps like Satsman or tracking your daily steps with sMiles to stack free sats daily. Right now, most people just hoard and stack these sats. But while individual earnings are extremely small, collectively they can create massive purchasing power for merchants if we actually choose to spend them. Every small step makes an immediate difference. 2️⃣ Hold Natively: Keep those earned sats sitting right inside your connected Nostr wallet. 3️⃣ Spend Natively: Find a merchant on Nostr or BTC Maps, and pay directly into their business profile wallet. Right here on Nostr, these direct peer-to-peer payments are just Zaps. ⚡️ 4️⃣ Supply Natively: That merchant then takes those exact satoshis from their revenue and uses them to pay their suppliers or B2B partners in Bitcoin.

The beauty? It’s pure Bitcoin peer-to-peer from end to end. No conversion to fiat, no banking rails, and zero taxable exchange events.

A completely self-contained loop from game to wallet to merchant to supplier. The loop is ready—we just have to break out of the HODL-only mindset and close it. 🔄⚡️

Let’s be real but optimistic: the Bitcoin "circular economy" is facing a big growth pain—we have a spending problem. 📈🌱

I drive solid traction and earn in the fiat world, but after a year of trying to fully transition, the reality here is clear: like most merchants on Nostr, I'm earning almost nothing in BTC yet. It’s easy for business owners to get impatient!

HODLing is a great savings strategy, but a real parallel system needs velocity. Tiny Zaps are awesome, but supporting each other's actual businesses is what builds a sovereign future.

We have the tech and the community to make this work. If we shift our mindset and start actively buying from each other, this decentralized economy will be unstoppable. Let's do this. 👇 (Continued in comments)

Elon Musk talks about turning X into a Western "superapp"—an all-in-one platform for chat, media, ID, and global payments. WeChat already mastered this years ago.

But here’s the reality check: Nostr clients like

and

have literally been doing this for a while now.

Through a single cryptographic key pair, a user can instantly access borderless P2P messaging, media sharing, live streaming, decentralized marketplace stores, and lighting-fast global micropayments via native Zaps. It is the ultimate "Everything App," entirely decoupled from corporate control.

So here is my challenge to us: Why are mainstream consumers and merchants still sleepwalking into centralized corporate traps instead of utilizing Nostr fully?

Is it a friction problem? A marketing problem? Or are people just too comfortable trading their data and sovereignty for legacy convenience?

Let's discuss. 👇

Let’s be honest for a Saturday morning: the Nostr echo chamber has an engagement problem.

My wife posts our Gran Canaria holiday photos on Facebook: 79 likes, 30 comments. I post virtually identical content here on Nostr: 1 or 2 interactions if I’m lucky.

I’m fully committed to the sovereign web, but let's cut the coping—I completely miss the network traction, reach, and vibrant engagement of legacy giants like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Nostr is a brilliant protocol, but as a functional social network, we are barely scratching the surface of true mainstream adoption.

How do we stop talking to ourselves, fix this retention issue, and actually bring the crowd over? (And no, it won’t stop me from posting.) 👇

6 AM here in Gran Canaria. The family is still asleep, and I’m watching the beautiful island wake up with a coffee in hand ☕️🏝️

Even on holiday, the Bitcoin network never stops. I’ve been blown away by the active local community here. Just connected with

A true circular economy requires three things: merchants, events, and direct value exchange. Looking through the

app, you can see this active network thriving right now—from local or global merchants like

to upcoming Amsterdam meetups.

But the real game-changer for businesses is how features like Geozaps and Biozaps completely rewrite modern marketing:

• Legacy Web2: Businesses pay thousands to corporate ad agencies to blast annoying, ignored pop-ups at people.
• The Web3 Shift: Businesses can fire the middleman and pay their target audience directly.

Instead of burning a budget on big tech, a local shop can drop real value (sats) straight into the wallets of local users within a few kilometers of their storefront or target key groups (like educators or podcasters).

It transforms marketing from an annoyance into an incentivized, hyper-targeted relationship. Stop paying middlemen—start zapping your community directly! 🍊⚡️

Most people think the only way to get Bitcoin is to buy it with fiat. While using gateways like

is a seamless way to stack, the real magic of the Bitcoin ecosystem is that you can actively earn sats just by interacting with modern apps—even if you are completely new to tech.

If you want to start accumulating without dipping into your bank account, here is exactly how the landscape looks right now:

1. Creating Content (Nostr): This is the ultimate game-changer for "normies," influencers, and everyday content creators. On Nostr, social media "likes" are dead. By just posting your normal daily life, makeup routines, holiday pictures, or engaging content, other users can "zap" you micro-tips instantly. You get paid directly by your audience for being you. 💅📸
2. Learn-to-Earn: As a founder and active user of Satsman, I am incredibly proud of its educational mission. I believe the best way to understand Bitcoin is to make it fun and playful. By learning the mechanics of sound money through gamified experiences, you accumulate real sats. Earning by learning.
3. Passive Yield: You can make your investments work for you. Sitting in yield-bearing assets like USDB allows you to earn passive income paid out directly in sats just for holding.
4. Move-to-Earn / Daily Habits: Apps like sMiles and
   npub1c45ywqw…h00xjn

literally pay you fractions of Bitcoin just for walking, driving, or completing daily tasks.

Whether you are a creator stacking via Nostr zaps, walking, or playing educational games on Satsman, the opportunities to accumulate are everywhere. Stop just watching the charts—start participating in the economy. ⚡️📈

Bitcoin is the best money that has ever existed, no doubt about it. We are currently still in a transition period unfortunately. As a pragmatic person I therefore used to think stablecoins were the necessary bridge to onboard users and merchants. Luckily new self-custodial app infrastructure in Europe is making them obsolete for daily commerce.

When you can connect banking rails directly to Bitcoin via platforms like

, synthetic dollar middlemen dissolve:

💳 Consumers: Save a fixed salary amount directly to cold storage via Bringin Connect (SEPA to a buy-vIBAN) or load your debit card directly using its own Lightning Address. Spend on Visa rails globally while stacking Satsback. Want to avoid UTXO consolidation drama? Just swap EUR on your main vIBAN directly to a Lightning wallet. 🏪 Merchants: Want to accept Bitcoin without volatility fear? Spin up an open-source tool like the Numo app or Coinsnap, and point it to a dedicated Bringin LN address. Tap-to-pay swaps sats to EUR instantly to pay suppliers.

This is how fiat eventually dies. Once merchants realize they can completely bypass legacy cards or alternative payment methods (like PayPal and WeChat Pay) that clip them for up to 3% in fees, the incentive to accept Euros disappears entirely. Why pay legacy extortion when Lightning and

is instant and near-free?

High-volume traders still (think they) need stablecoins. But on the ground, self-custodial apps with direct fiat gateways are seamlessly executing the hyperbitcoinized future. The ultimate bridge isn't a stablecoin—it's a direct line to hard money. ⚡🇪🇺

Ever wonder how WeChat Pay handles physical retail transactions using a static QR code? It's a massive growing market in Europe, but the mechanics reveal a heavy legacy burden:

📲 The Flow: A European merchant displays a static QR code at the counter. The Chinese customer opens their WeChat app, scans it, manually enters the fiat amount specified by the merchant, and authorizes the payment.

⏳ While it feels seamless for the consumer, the merchant is left holding the bag. Settlement takes at least 1 business day (often longer across borders), and payment processors charge hefty transaction fees—frequently climbing up to 3%.

⚡ Compare this to Bitcoin Lightning or e-cash. A dynamic or static QR code allows instant settlement in milliseconds. Peer-to-peer, final settlement, with transaction fees that are fractions of a cent (essentially 0%).

Why pay 3% and wait 24 hours for credit risk when open monetary protocols can settle instantly for next to nothing? The shift to native value rails isn't just about tech—it’s pure corporate efficiency. 💼📈

Both of your UI/UX is already top-tier, but if we, as Nostr community, want to give users absolutely zero reason to ever fall back on walled gardens like WhatsApp, Facebook, or LinkedIn, we need to bring full-spectrum communication to the protocol layer.

Imagine if Primal and /or Yakihonne integrated: 👥 Native Group Chats: High-signal, encrypted spaces for communities and businesses. 📞 Voice Calls: Instant peer-to-peer audio right from the DM interface. 📹 Video Calling: Secure, open-protocol video streaming without corporate spyware.

Because Nostr handles the identity layer natively, adding secure, WebRTC-based communication rails means that a comprehensive, sovereign communications hub can be build.

So why don't you build the ultimate killer app layer. What do you say, nostr:nprofile1qqs9xtvrphl7p8qnua0gk9zusft33lqjkqqr7cwkr6g8wusu0lle8jcpzamhxue69uhkummnw3ezuurpwfjhgmeww3hhwmsprpmhxue69uhhqun9d45h2mfwwpexjmtpdshxuet5cfkclk and nostr:nprofile1qqszpxr0hql8whvk6xyv5hya7yxwd4snur4hu4mg5rctz2ehekkzrvcpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpr3mhxue69uhkummnw3ez6vp39eukz6mfdphkumn99e3k7mgd22h8g teams? 😉⚡📡

Coming from over 6,100 followers on LinkedIn, it’s a humble reminder of what starting fresh on a new protocol looks like. But let’s be honest—the signal-to-noise ratio here is unmatched. Lost my purple verification checkmark recently because

unfortunately phased out their NIP-05 mapping directory to focus purely on Cashu/Ecash. Zaps were still landing perfectly, but the missing badge was bugging me!

Dug into an old account and mapped my personal npub to an

Ultimate long-term goal is hosting my own nostr.json file on my domain (simon-consulting.nl) to be 100% sovereign, but this quick fix does the trick for now! 🤙

Caught the

popping up on my Nostr feed this morning. It’s pretty cool seeing a major European institution getting their data into open protocols! 🇪🇺📡

A few interesting details under the hood for the those interested: 🔹 They aren't natively here yet. Their official account lives on a Mastodon server (the federated ActivityPub protocol), which is being mirrored over to our timeline via a mostr.pub bridge. 🔹 Because it’s just a passive data bridge, I hit a wall trying to send them a test zap—no Lightning address is configured. ⚡🛑

Honestly, it would be awesome to see the Commission step past passive bridging and go fully native with a real Nostr pubkey and a Lightning address. There are so many great, free options out there to plug value directly into communication.

Ran a quick end-to-end liquidity drill on the new Numo Pay merchant app this morning. 📱⚡

Pulled a manual test withdrawal of 50 sats from the

mint straight to my LN address at

. It settled near instant in just a few seconds, costing a microscopic 2 sat mint and/or lightning fee. Flawless.

Huge credit to

for the slick implementation on Numo, and a massive shoutout to the broader nostr:nprofile1qqs0y3tvskgs9gpgxxu5ahgz3fmms3rzmxt504qceqtz4a6pdgfwlkgppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qywhwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnzd96xxmmfdejhytnnda3kjctv9ue5cmar developer community for their incredible hard work putting these foundational protocol layers together. 🛠️🛡️

What makes this setup a total game-changer for local business owners is the automated backend stack:

1️⃣ Numo Pay lets any merchant accept Bitcoin effortlessly right at the counter. 2️⃣ The Auto-Withdraw feature lets them set a threshold (like 50k sats) to automatically sweep funds without manual headache. 3️⃣ nostr:nprofile1qqstpkv7ykr7fe99wxh84ef5xr5h5g3xex3d2mrgk39hz4m0n3ad93qpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshsjzvmya acts as the perfect operational anchor, instantly bridging the Bitcoin and fiat worlds so merchants can swap incoming sats into Euros whenever they need fiat liquidity.

This is exactly how we solve real-world merchant adoption. Give businesses sovereign digital rails at the point of sale, backed by a seamless off-ramp to manage real business risks. Beautiful execution! 🏝️💶📈

I’m always down to test new protocol tech, which is why I actually gave Pubky a spin a few months ago. The recent rants from its founder claiming "Nostr is dead" definitely made me look back at that experience. 🕵️‍♂️🔥

My verdict remains the same. The UI looks incredibly sharp—no surprise there, as it shares that sleek, polished DNA with their Bitkit app. Visually, it’s beautiful. 🎨✨

But beneath the hood, the friction is real. Creating a profile months ago felt like an unnecessary obstacle course, and once inside... it was an absolute ghost town. Flash forward to today, and a beautiful interface still doesn't mean much without an active network effect to back it up. 🏜️📱

Meanwhile, Nostr is thriving. Just in the last few days alone, I've welcomed almost 10 new followers to my profile, alongside a steady stream of likes, comments, and zaps. Does Nostr have legacy social media numbers yet? No. But we aren't in a hurry. We are building the right way. ⚡📡

A flashy UI is a great start, but protocol growth requires seamless onboarding and sustained community traction. Less tribal bashing, more frictionless engineering! 😉📈

This latest Numo Pay update from

Commuted into Amsterdam this morning: caught the bus, hopped the train to Amsterdam South, and took the metro straight into the city. The entire multi-modal transit journey was executed flawlessly via a simple Google Pay contactless tap. 🚌🇳🇱🚇

The UX of the Dutch OVpay framework is a masterclass in frictionless infrastructure. The tragedy? It runs entirely on legacy fiat rails. 📉

Imagine this exact tap-and-go convenience built natively on Bitcoin Layer 2 or Layer 3 architectures. Think about Lightning routing or completely free Spark-to-address transfers. Better yet, look at

protocol wallets like

which already demonstrate true tap-to-pay functionality via NFC—even while completely offline. ⚡📱

The legacy rails have the onboarding UX solved, but open protocols—combining Lightning liquidity, free Spark settlement, and private Cashu ecash—possess the vastly superior infrastructure. Time to bridge the gap. 📈🛡️

#fintech #bitcoin #lightningnetwork #Spark #Cashu #payments #OVpay #grownostr

Testing the Spark wallet landscape reveals massive UX fragmentation. The incentive is huge: Spark-to-address transactions are completely free, while Lightning carries routing costs. 💰⚡

My breakdown of the current stack: 🔹 Xverse: Full Spark capability (send/receive via Spark address). Only Xverse lacks a standard LN address. 🔹 Blitz Wallet: The absolute gold standard for identity—the only one with a NIP-verified LN address. 🔹 Primal, WoS, Bringin: Spark capability completely disabled by the apps. 🔹 Club Orange: Send-only for Spark; incoming blocked. 🔹 Tether Wallet: Smooth tech, but zero privacy. Wallet balances and tx history are completely transparent. 🔎🛑

Conclusion:

(Blitz) takes the crown today. It successfully hits the ultimate sweet spot by giving you full, private, free Spark-to-address transfers alongside a native, working LN address. 🏆⚡

The rails are there, but developers need to stop disabling them. Free, private, peer-to-peer settlement is the ultimate goal. 📈🛡️

Interesting architecture shift for

with the merge of the on-chain payment standard. ⚖️

Until now, Cashu ecash mints operated almost exclusively via the Lightning Network. This new standard officially introduces a framework for mints to handle traditional, on-chain Bitcoin transactions directly.

From a compliance and risk perspective, this is worth watching: It expands the operational scope of ecash mints, changing how they interact with the base layer blockchain and potentially altering how flow-of-funds and transaction finality are viewed.

Excited to see how wallets implement this practically!

Spent day job hours advising legacy banks and PSPs on how to fix their clunky infrastructure.

Spent yesterday evening buying Bitcoin Pizza Day dinner using my

Visa card.

The legacy rails handle the merchant instantly, while my backend strategy is 100% focused on shorting fiat velocity: spend the EUR necessary for daily life, let the passive L2 USDB stablecoin sats yield roll over, harvest the task streaks, and sweep the entire floor into non-custodial Spark savings every 30 days.

16 years ago, Laszlo dropped 10k BTC to prove peer-to-peer cash worked. Today, we have the routing tech to run an entire personal central bank right from our pockets.

Good to be back. What's everyone stacking this weekend? 🍕⚡

The "Micropayment Only" myth just died. ⚰️⚡️

Seeing a $1,000,000 transaction settle between @SD_Markets and @krakenfx in just 0.47 seconds is a watershed moment for #Bitcoin scalability.

This isn't just about coffee anymore. When we see channels with 11.3 BTC+ capacity, we are looking at the future of: 🏠 $450k Property settlements 🏎️ $80k Vehicle purchases 💼 Monthly corporate payroll

By bypassing the main layer, these high-value transfers settle instantly with near-zero fees. It offers a massive operational advantage over the slow, costly wait times of traditional bank transfers or even base-layer on-chain transactions.

We are moving toward a world where the speed of business finally matches the speed of the internet. The bridge between TradFi efficiency and Bitcoin sovereignty is being built in real-time.

What’s the next milestone? $10M? $100M? The rails are ready. 🛡️🚀
