The format is 2.5” x 3.5” on whatever you want.

I made these back in 2011; more of a collage style than what I would do now.

Last photo is a plastic template for the size of an ATC. It’s really handy if you create a masterboard, then use the template as a window to find which areas you want to cut down to be your ATC.

I’ve had more of an awareness Memento Mori since crossing the half-century birthday mark.

The wildfire evacuation brought it closer to home in a different way in that everything my mom owned, other than her Go bag and the car, could have been destroyed overnight.

A lifetime of physical memories gone.

A kind of death in that I’d never again see the tapestries my grandparents stitched. The photos of that family vacation. My largest watercolor painting.

GM! 11 of 11 on the bad air quality scale at the house, so Mom and I drove a town over for breakfast and walk along a lakeside trail.

A local farmer opened his peach orchard yesterday for picking because the fruit is ripe but most of the migrant workers left during the wildfire evacuation. Mom went out and brought back 2 large bags.

Today’s breakfast: fresh peaches and vanilla bean ice cream 😋

Despite not being watered for over a week while we were evacuated, with multiple days of the worst air quality measurable, the following documents my mom’s garden:

1. Snap dragons are back
2. Strawberry plant grew in every way possible
3. Tomatoes DGAF
4. Something ate all the grapes

Home again! Thankfully no damage to the house, minimal ash/debris to sweep up, and the house interior was far less smoky than I expected.

Slowly getting back to normal… while still going to the next town for groceries and anything else because the local businesses need a few weeks to clean up, restock, and re-open.

Promotion is part of being an artist if you want anyone other than yourself to see/read/hear/feel what you’ve created.

Props to anyone willing to make the effort beyond the creating to share their efforts with the world. 👏

Smoky morning, but cleared up later, so Mom and I went for a treat down by the beach. We try and get out of the hotel at least once a day if the air isn’t too bad.

The latest official word is the next re-entry back to town, under an evacuation alert because the wildfire is still classified as “out of control,” will be a large group of folks, so here’s hoping. 🤞
