nos

Welcome to Plur! This is the new app from the team that made nos.social and we're creating community tools. This is a work in progres and we're figuring out how to build it. Please talk to us here as you experiment with Plur.

Today we’re bringing Nos 1.2.1 to our TestFlight users! This version lets you create, edit, and delete lists of your favorite people and accounts, just like Nos 1.2 on the App Store.

With the Nos 1.2 update, you can use Nos to create, edit, and delete lists of your favorite people and accounts! We're also bringing you fixes for the biggest issues in the previous version:

• Fixed: restarting app reverts to Following rather than selected list or relay
• Fixed: lists change positions randomly
• Fixed: adding and removing relays is not reflected in the feed filter
• Fixed: text fields sometimes don't work on onboarding screens
• Fixed: main action button is not visible on iPad on "Build Your Network" onboarding screen
• Fixed: crash when processing a malformed delete event

Have a nice day!

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nos-social/id1670125746

We’ve added lists to Nos in version 1.1! You can create a list in another app like listr.lol and then view the feed for that list in Nos. Here’s the full set of changes in this version:

• Added lists to the app so you can see feeds from specific accounts you've added to the list. You can create your lists with listr and view their feeds from the Nos app.
• Nos now publishes the hashtags it finds in your note when you post. This means it works the way you’ve always expected it to work.
• Updated the default relays that are added when you create an account.
• Fixed display of Mastodon usernames
• Fixed crash related to tracking delete events.

Have a great day!

Nos 1.0.3 is now on TestFlight for all our beta testers and waiting on Apple’s for review for our App Store users in Australia and New Zealand. What’s new?

• Added support for user setting and displaying pronouns.
• Added display of website URLs for user profiles.
• Updated note header UI to make it more readable.
• Fixed galleries expanding past the width of the screen when there are lots of links or images.
• Fixed quoted note composer not expanding to fit mentions.

Thanks for giving it a try!

Have an awesome day, and for those of you at Nostriga, come say hi to us!

If the Nos app is still not working for you, make sure you have the latest release installed from TestFlight!

Steps to check if Nos is up to date:

1. Launch TestFlight. If Nos says update, then update! or
2. If TestFlight was open, quit and relaunch it and then update Nos.

Still having issues- reach out to us!

GM Nostr! After 6+ months of working through product debt and bugs we have a stable app! If you haven’t checked it out in awhile you might want to give it another go! Huge thanks to

and Martin for working through all the issues!

We have a couple of new ideas in early prototype phase we’d love to get Nos user feedback on this Friday.

DM us if you have 30 minutes or so for a video call - no cameras required, but we do need you to share your screen.

We periodically get requests for an Android version of Nos. So let’s do an informal poll today.

If you are an Android user and would like to see an Android Nos app, like this post. Bonus, share what makes you interested in Nos in the comments or via DM!

A semi-regular reminder that Nos allows both deletion of notes and ephemeral notes.

Is it perfect? No but we’ve found that most of the major clients and relays respect both!

We’re channeling the joy of the revolution with our June Cohort. Whether you are looking for dance music for an upcoming gathering or inspiration on how to make an impact, this month’s cohort has it all. Inspired by this passage from Emma Goldman’s autobiography, Living My Life, we hope following this latest group of Creators, Activists and Journalists will bring some joy to your feed and summer!

"At the dances I was one of the most untiring and gayest. One evening a cousin of Sasha [Alexander Berkman], a young boy, took me aside. With a grave face, as if he were about to announce the death of a dear comrade, he whispered to me that it did not behoove an agitator to dance. Certainly not with such reckless abandon, anyway. It was undignified for one who was on the way to become a force in the anarchist movement. My frivolity would only hurt the Cause.

I grew furious at the impudent interference of the boy. I told him to mind his own business, I was tired of having the Cause constantly thrown into my face. I did not believe that a Cause which stood for a beautiful ideal, for anarchism, for release and freedom from conventions and prejudice, should demand the denial of life and joy. I insisted that our Cause could not expect me to become a nun and that the movement should not be turned into a cloister. If it meant that, I did not want it. "I want freedom, the right to self-expression, everybody’s right to beautiful, radiant things." Anarchism meant that to me, and I would live it in spite of the whole world--prisons, persecution, everything. Yes, even in spite of the condemnation of my own comrades I would live my beautiful ideal.” [Living My Life (New York: Knopf, 1934), p. 56]
