I’m experiencing an issue where Claude Code CLI loses its MCP configuration after upgrades (which happen frequently). I have similar problems with Goose and Cursor (though I rarely use Cursor anymore). MCPs feel incredibly powerful yet frustratingly fragile across these tools.

Has anyone found ways to make MCP setups more stable and easier to configure/maintain across different AI coding assistants?

What do you think? Are the failures of the current model of capitalism opening up more people to the idea of socialism or even communism?

Personally I think all of those labels, and fascism too, aren’t particularly useful in talking about the society we have or what we want, but it’s interesting to see how they’re shifting.

The open social web movement isn’t about ATprotocol vs ActivityPub vs Nostr. We all win with open systems and lose if people end up on centralized systems. You can follow Bluesky ceo Jay Graber on Nostr:

How many people know that the amazing digital rights and activist group

Twice in the past Israel invaded Lebanon and twice they’ve been pushed out. Hezbollah is the resistance that ended Israel’s last occupation of Lebanon. You can’t understand the current conflict without knowing something about the history.

Chappell is right that both sides of American electoral politics are fucked. And there are good tactical reasons to vote for Kamala Harris.

But voting isn’t the only tool we have to change things. We can do a thousand things, we can organize and build power that forces change. The election is what happens at the end after we’ve done the work and changed politics.

Facial recognition is a massive invasion of privacy. We need to fight against its use in public spaces.

While not done, the new protest.net site is online. The goal is to create a space for activists and organizers to build movements on top of a censorship resistant open decentralized protocol, nostr.

The amazing folks at

have published 14 hours of leaked training videos that are a previously unreleased part of Project 2025. It’s a weird combination of boring infomercial meets handmaid’s tale.

We’re not ready, but we’ve got the broken first draft at a new website for protest.net.

https://protest.net/

We went to go create instructions on how to make your own nostr identity from scratch using a browser extension….. This is way to many steps.

"Step-by-Step Guide: Installing Nostr Connect and Setting Up Your Account This guide will help you install the Nostr Connect browser extension, create a new key, add relays, and log in to social.protest.net and calendar.protest.net.

Step 1: Install the Nostr Connect Browser Extension

1. Open your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Brave).
2. Go to the Nostr Connect extension page:
   • Chrome Web Store
   • Firefox Add-ons
3. Search for “Nostr Connect” in the store’s search bar.
4. Click on the Nostr Connect extension from the search results.
5. Click “Add to Chrome/Firefox/Brave”.
6. Confirm by clicking “Add Extension” when prompted.
7. You will see a small Nostr Connect icon in your browser's toolbar once the installation is complete.

Step 2: Create a New Key

1. Click on the Nostr Connect icon in your browser's toolbar.
2. You will see an option to “Create a New Key”—click on it.
3. Save your key securely:
   • You will see a public key and a private key.
   • Write down your private key and keep it in a safe place. This is like a password; if you lose it, you won't be able to access your account.
   • The public key is like your username, which you can share with others.
4. Click “Done” after saving your keys.

Step 3: Add Relays to Your Account

1. Open the Nostr Connect extension again by clicking the icon in the toolbar.
2. Navigate to the Settings or Relays section.
3. You’ll see a list of default relays. To add new ones, click on “Add Relay”.
4. Enter the following relay addresses:
   • wss://relay.protest.net
   • wss://relay.nos.social
5. After entering each relay, click “Add” or “Save”.
6. Ensure the relays are enabled by checking the toggle or checkbox next to each relay.

Step 4: Save Your Setup

1. Once you've added the relays, make sure you click “Save” or “Apply Changes”.
2. Your relays should now be connected, and your key should be set up for use.

Step 5: Log In to Social.Protest.net and Calendar.Protest.net

1. Go to social.protest.net or calendar.protest.net in your browser.
2. Look for a “Log In with Nostr” or “Connect with Nostr” button on the website.
3. Click the login button—your Nostr Connect extension will prompt you to confirm the login.
4. Approve the login in the Nostr Connect pop-up by clicking “Confirm”.
5. You are now logged in and ready to use the platforms!”

The coverage of the post election conflict in Venezuela

is something everybody on Nostr should be following.

Republicans want polluters to regulate themselves

Trump's Project 2025 has a whole 27-page chapter on creating a “conservative Environmental Protection Agency” with suggestions that will fix “an agency that has long been amenable to being coopted by the Left for political ends” (p. 417)

One plan that stands out is to let companies that caused the pollution on a Superfund site to be in charge of cleaning it up. They call this company the "Potentially Responsible Party."

Quoting Project 2025:

To execute more efficient and effective cleanups, the following changes are needed in the Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI): Allow PRPs (“Potentially Responsible Parties”) to perform the statutorily required five-year reviews of Superfund cleanups to free OLEM (Office of Land and Emergency Management) resources.

Project 2025, page 431

Superfund sites are places like factories, landfills, and mines where hazardous waste has been mishandled. The cleanup process involves figuring out how bad the contamination is, planning how to fix it, and then doing the actual cleanup to make the area safe for people and the environment again. You might think that the person who was responsible for contaminating the site might not be the best judge for whether or not it’s safe for people again.

Julian Assange isn’t the only person who’s been thrown in jail by a broken abusive state.

It’s a sad testament to power in the world today that war criminals got a Nobel Peace Prize and the people who exposed their crimes were thrown in prison. #wikileaks #assange #freejulian

This account is for protest.net which is an activist calendar site dating back to the 90's... The idea is to relaunch it using Nostr. With that we should help people use Nostr to organize social movements and social change. Initially we're thinking of using ditto and flockstr.

After a more than a decade of activism and campaigning Wikileaks activist Julian Assange has been freed. We look forward to seeing him on Nostr soon.
