Friends: love it 🥰

Artemis II: NASA's SLS rocket arrives at the firing range for a historic return to the Moon.

The Artemis II mission is becoming clearer: NASA has just sent its powerful Space Launch System (SLS) rocket to the 39B launch pad of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

After a journey of almost 12 hours on the crawler-transporter (the legendary caterpillar vehicle capable of carrying millions of kilos at about 1.6 km/h), the SLS + Orion capsule set is now positioned at Launch Complex 39B. This transfer, made on January 17-18, 2026, marks a crucial step towards the first manned flight of the Artemis program.

This is a major step: the giant rocket (with the Orion capsule on it) is now positioned for the final tests, including at least one dress rehearsal with full loading of cryogenic propels, simulation of the countdown and emptying.

If all these tests take place without a hitch, the first launch slot is set for February 6, 2026 (window opening from February 5-6 according to orbital and technical conditions).

Artemis II will then send four astronauts – Reid Wiseman (commander), Victor Glover (pilot), Christina Koch (mission specialist, NASA) and Jeremy Hansen (mission specialist, Canadian Space Agency) – for a historic lunar overflight. It will be the first time since Apollo 17 in December 1972 that humans will venture so far from Earth, during a journey of about 10 days without landing, but with a passage near the hidden side of the Moon.

This unprecedented mission will validate vital systems for future stages of the Artemis program, including the return of astronauts to the lunar surface with Artemis III.

🌕 IN DEFENSE OF THE #MOON

(Because stability, tides, and wonder still matter)

If the #Moon vanished, #Earth would stumble in the dark — tides gone quiet, rhythms broken, and the #axis that keeps our #seasons #balanced thrown into #chaos

Don’t #Flux with me

The #Moon isn’t a luxury; it’s the gyroscope of life.

It pulls our oceans, anchors our climate, choreographs the coral spawn, and gives every child a reason to look up and dream.

Remove it — and we lose more than tides.

We lose poetry. We lose pulse. We lose the measure of night itself.

⸻

🌊 SCIENCE TRUTH

•	No Moon = tides shrink by 60–70%.

→ Estuaries, coral reefs, and tidal ecosystems collapse.

•	No Moon = axial tilt goes wild.

→ 10° to 60° swings over geologic time → ice ages where rainforests once stood.

•	No Moon = darker nights.

→ No lunar rhythm for migration, love, or ritual.

•	No Moon = climate chaos.

→ Seasons become #unpredictable; #agriculture #destabilizes

The Moon keeps Earth civilized — both literally and symbolically.

⸻

🌙 CULTURE TRUTH

Every #empire built calendars by the #Moon so shove the #Gregorian calendar all the way up your sexist asses ( maybe use silicone lube )

Every myth birthed #goddesses by its glow.

Every lover swore an oath beneath it.

To erase the Moon is to delete human memory.

⸻

🌌 CALL TO ACTION

Defend the lunar sanctum.

Protect the skies from unchecked militarization, satellite blinding, and artificial clutter.

Advocate for dark-sky preserves and lunar conservation treaties.

The Moon belongs to all beings.
