Years of preaching bitcoin to my brother and he’s never “gotten it.”

Today he called me saying he thinks bitcoin might be the only solution to many problems we see in the world today.

Just goes to show that we all find bitcoin when the time is right. He’s feeling the effects of inflation and uncertainty about the future and leading him to ask the right questions. At the end of the day, it’s an individual journey.

I had a 180° change of perspective around paying with bitcoin if the merchant is converting to Fiat.

I tried it once and it sparked such a fantastic conversation but now every time I see a square terminal, I ask to pay in Bitcoin.

If every bitcoiner (or even 10%) did this, adoption would skyrocket and we would see a completely different trajectory for bitcoin.

We are all Satoshi. No individual can go it alone. We win through collective action.

One thing I love about living in Washington is how abundant nature is. Here, wood is often a waste product. People cut down trees all the time and pay money to dispose of the rounds.

One takeaway from FinCon 2026:

Finance people need to learn about bitcoin, and bitcoiners need to learn about finance.

Kenya, Czech Republic, Indonesia and Colombia. This year we visited four countries on four different continents to show how decentralized bitcoin education is actually impacting humans.

What started in a hut with two students in El Salvador is now the largest bitcoin education organization in the world in over 40 countries with thousands of students graduating the bitcoin diploma.

We need independent bitcoin education now more than ever. The road ahead is bumpy and the more people who understand bitcoin and plug it into their lives the better chance we have a free in humanity from fiat money slavery.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in business came when I was running an automotive detailing service during college.

Not only is the client always right, but the client’s perspective on the quality of the work is more important than the actual quality of the work.

The handshake and few minutes chatting during the pickup/drop-off mattered more than the hours of detailing in between.

It’s a bit cynical I know, but as creators we often get attached to our work and we need to remember that if we want to remain in business and get a call back, we have to keep our ego out of it.

Fiat is archaic.

Not to mention the contiual loss of purchasing power…

I was just reminded of this because my breakfast order came up $1 short of the minimum for credit cards so I had to buy a water I didn’t need just to be able to use my card.
