Years of preaching bitcoin to my brother and he’s never “gotten it.”

Today he called me saying he thinks bitcoin might be the only solution to many problems we see in the world today.

Just goes to show that we all find bitcoin when the time is right. He’s feeling the effects of inflation and uncertainty about the future and leading him to ask the right questions. At the end of the day, it’s an individual journey.

I had a 180° change of perspective around paying with bitcoin if the merchant is converting to Fiat.

I tried it once and it sparked such a fantastic conversation but now every time I see a square terminal, I ask to pay in Bitcoin.

If every bitcoiner (or even 10%) did this, adoption would skyrocket and we would see a completely different trajectory for bitcoin.

We are all Satoshi. No individual can go it alone. We win through collective action.

I was inspired by many stories like Winnie’s and the fact that we can simply transfer value across the world without an intermediary is so revolutionary it’s sometimes worth doing just for the sake of it. 210 satoshis = a meal in many parts of Kenya so any support goes a long ways.

One takeaway from FinCon 2026:

Finance people need to learn about bitcoin, and bitcoiners need to learn about finance.

More people have asked me how much bitcoin I have today at Fincon than all the bitcoin conferences I’ve been to combined. Funny that that’s the first question people have.

I’m as much of a bitcoin maxi as anyone… but also not scared to fail the “bitcoin purity test.”

Kenya, Czech Republic, Indonesia and Colombia. This year we visited four countries on four different continents to show how decentralized bitcoin education is actually impacting humans.

What started in a hut with two students in El Salvador is now the largest bitcoin education organization in the world in over 40 countries with thousands of students graduating the bitcoin diploma.

We need independent bitcoin education now more than ever. The road ahead is bumpy and the more people who understand bitcoin and plug it into their lives the better chance we have a free in humanity from fiat money slavery.

Problem is we don’t have the right words. Language limits our understanding.

No analogy is perfect because bitcoin is truly novel.
