Had some "spirited" discussions yesterday regarding stablecoins on #Bitcoin. It’s clear the tension between monetary purism and pragmatic adoption is at an all-time high.

As a consultant advising fintechs on payment rails, I see the ground reality every day: we are fighting for a $32.9 Trillion retail market, yet #BTC Map shows only ~20k merchants onboarded.

Pure BTC is the destination, but for the 99% of businesses facing 5% margins and strict compliance, stablecoins on Bitcoin rails (via Taproot Assets) are the essential bridge. We can’t win the world if we refuse to build the plumbing they can actually use today.

But they should be—and can be—even better.

In 2026, "Creatrepreneurs" are building diversified businesses, with 41% earning over $50k annually through brand deals and platform payouts. On Nostr, we have the ultimate "ownership" model, but big brands and top-tier creators follow the crowd. Without the big names, we don't get the followers; without the followers, we don't get the big money.

Reflecting on one year of using Nostr... ⚡️

I first created my profile back in February 2025, but after a long hiatus, I’ve only recently dove back in. Now that I’m active again, one thing is crystal clear: Technically, Nostr is superior to any other social media platform out there.

However, we have a hurdle to clear. 🚧

Right now, most posts are still too technical for the average person. I truly believe we’ll only get the best out of this protocol when it becomes the go-to place for real life—sharing holidays, day-to-day experiences, family photos, and great articles. We need to use it with the same ease we use Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn. 📸🌍

My big hope for 2026? That businesses finally wake up to Nostr. It is, hands down, the best way to create authentic brand awareness without the "middleman" algorithms.

Let's keep building the "Social Layer" by just being ourselves. 🧱🍊

Taking a break from the 'home office' today to bring two of my kids into the city centre for lunch. It’s great to be out, but the "real world" adoption gap remains a reality—no direct Bitcoin payments accepted here yet.

Thankfully, I have my

card as the ultimate bridge. I was able to pay for lunch using the debit card, which (almost) instantly off-ramps from my Lightning balance to Euros at the point of sale. ⚡️➡️💶

While I’d prefer to pay natively, tools like Bringin allow us to live on a Bitcoin standard in Europe today, even when the merchants aren't quite there yet.

Back to home now to keep helping the real smart people build the infrastructure that will eventually make this card unnecessary! 🏛️🧱
