Considering the recent dip in Bitcoins price and overall turbulence and panic, I remind myself why I from the outset invested in Bitcoin.

Bitcoiners often talk about Bitcoin as a rabbit hole... NO!, it is the opposite.

You were born in a rabbit hole - the fiat world. A whole system set up by banks and the elites to keep you under control and them in power. When you start to learn about Bitcoin, you are digging yourself out of the fiat rabbit hole. This is why, as you learn, you feel less limited, less stressed, less constrained, more free and hopeful.

You are leaving behind a world governed by murky politics, shadowy figures, centralized power, propaganda and bondage - a degenerate and collapsing world built on empty promises. And you are entering a world built on truth, math, decentralized influence and unlimited potential and creativity.

This is why Nostr feels like a positive place full of creatives and free thinkers - people here are hopeful, feeling the warmth of the sun, seeing the horizon and breathing fresh air. You are crawling out of Plato’s cave and entering the sunlight for the first time.

Welcome to the real world!

It's a new dawn

This storm shall pass - hunker down and ride it out. HODL - be defiant and ungovernable - FUCK'EM!! ... and if you can, buy the dip.

This picture shows my sense of the world for the last five-ish years - it has been a 100 megaton clown bomb.

I’ve changed a lot of my core views. I honestly feel like a different person now. I’m flabbergasted by the state of the world - especially the West. I work in academia and have seen the stupidity and arrogance of many academics up close. Living in Norway, the recent corruption revelations just added another 50 megatons to the clown bomb.

What’s kept me sane: discovering Bitcoin, the people in this space, my hobbies, nature, my pets, real one-on-one conversations with folks who can still think critically… and yeah, this place right here on Nostr. There’s a ridiculously good collection of those people here.

As the Chinese curse goes: “May you live in interesting times.”

By golly, the last five years have been interesting. Can’t wait to see what’s next…

Rant over - you may proceed 🙂

This is the season for cuddling up inside and starting to fire up the woodstove. But even better: take your friends/family on a hike. Make a fire, brew some black coffee, and enjoy the crisp cold air—finding some solace in a world gone mad.

Shine on all you crazy diamonds out there in Nostr-land

Stay on the path! We might have hit a rough patch right now, visibility is low, rain is pounding and thunder is all around us. But this too shall pass and the weather will calm down. Again the path will be there in front of you - green lush and serene. The current moment is all part of the journey - in the end it will be worth it!

A little ray of hope is coming through at the moment - hold on, the sun might be rising again.

My guess is that some of us (me included) are a bit stressed right now...

So here is a calming horizon to look at.

This to shall pass and the sun will rise tomorrow.

As a follow up to my last note

I really recommend this movie - "Take Shelter" - it portrays the sense of an impending catastrophe I think a lot of people are sensing at the moment.

I don't know about you...

I, personally, have this eerie sense that we might be facing some serious global chaos in the near term - even more than what we see already.

I am reading up on the Stoics and came across this quote from Marcus Aurelius:

"To be like the rock that the waves keep crashing over. It stands unmoved and the raging of the sea falls still around it"

Prepare your mind to handle turbulence, chaos, and not knowing what is going on - prepare to be a rock, reflecting your calmness to those close to you.

NB: Facing these times with Bitcoin in cold storage feels quite comforting.
