I have some gold for you today. .clipping is one of the most interesting rap projects that I know of. The interplay between "rhyme-rhythm", "accent-rhytm", "musical-note-rhythm" is simply impeccable. The timbres used in their beats are unorthodox in the best way possible. The drum machine built from garbage is just a bonus. #musicstr #music #tunestr #rap #hiphop

are you aware of any tools for kind 1111 discussions tied to highlights (or better: tied to any kind)? Highlight feeds in Boris are quickly becoming more interesting than my kind 1 feed and it would be great to be able to get some conversations going.

Reading Pillars of Propagation again. This will become a classic.

My

over

has been running for a couple of days (now at https://npub1ekuzl82ewlx7s9xdz9uq6lmadt9slv8n9m47z5fxkp7k57vpfvysuhxzvu.fips:8080/) and it seems like it's working really well. The speed is not exactly what I would call blazingly fast, but it's still magical that you can run a web service with no permission from a domain registrar or a hosting provider. Well, you still need an ISP, but a) it's only a matter of time, as FIPS is transport agnostic (imagine

+ FIPS) b) the ISP does not even know what's up, because EVERYTHING IS ENCRYPTED.

This tech is beautiful. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqueyupdfgmrx57qcl5xq4j5qkc8mr62lmcer2lh35gy8xq7aqxz7qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd4hk6tcqyzltmn3xgmjj5eq2g72r0zccg96yyty8728ckjmuzk039qgnkg4cszj4ups

Archspire is a tech death metal band pushing the genre to the limits of absurdity. Their music is so dense that it's more funny than brutal. But we like funny, don't we? Their proficiency as musicians is on another level and I can attest that they really can pull this off live with no problems. An unbelievable band.

Some feedback on fips2go: when bootstrapping on a cellular network, I'm getting errors like '2026-09-23T13:41:28.632354Z WARN fips::node::lifecycle: Failed to send handshake message link_id=link:2 error=send failed: Address family not supported by protocol (os error 97)'.

My clanker says this: "On a DNS64/NAT64 mobile network (IPv6-only carrier), every handshake send fails with os error 97 (EAFNOSUPPORT) and the node ends up with 0 links. On any normal IPv4/DNS network the same config links fine.

Root cause looks like an address-family mismatch: the UDP transport is bound to 0.0.0.0:37259 (AF_INET) but the peer endpoint is a hostname ($name.fips.network:2121), which DNS64 resolves to a synthesized AAAA. The resulting SocketAddr is AF_INET6 and sendto() on the AF_INET socket fails. udp_bind is in ConfigStore.RETIRED_KEYS, so the bind family can't be changed from the UI."

A more permanent instance of Bitblik over FIPS is up. It's on a fucking Raspberry, so I cannot vouch for its stability. Let me know if it's reachable!

This is cool. Taking it down now. Next week I'll dig up an old Raspberry and will try to set up a permanent node.

Decentralized commerce needs decentralized infrastructure. A time will come when Bitcoiners will be forced to build in places that are harder to reach for the state apparatus, away from censorship, ID checks and takedown notices.

A central piece in all of that transitioning away from traditional internet domains that can be shut down easily. Luckily, achieving this has never been easier and it will take years before the machine catches up with us.

As a little demo, you can check out a

No domains, no static ip, no rented hosting, just a goddamn computer standing under my desk. To reach it, ask your clanker how to set up FIPS (from this repo: https://github.com/jmcorgan/fips) service and .fips name resolution on your machine. After it is done, you can just use your standard internet browser. And if you wanna reach it from an Android phone, just grab fips2go (https://zapstore.dev/apps/org.fips.android) from Zapstore, add your internet browser to the list of FIPS-enabled apps and voila!

Expect intermittent availability, from time to time I step away from the computer and shut it down :)

Are there any high-quality curated lists of nostr clients grouped by NIPs they implement?

Today I learned that self-hosting a lightning address is a bitch. Should be working now, but boy why am I doing this to myself?

Listening to Breedlove talking about harmony in music, I felt the need to set something straight. On X, unfortunately. I thought I should also post it here.

I can't believe I haven't shared anything by Leprous yet. Definitely one of the most interesting prog (or however you'd classify it) bands out there. What really buys me are those rhythmic subtleties, syncopations and accents in unusual places that make this music extremely hard to perform, but in a way that's not obvious to an untrained ear on the first listen. And if you get the opportunity to see them live, I definitely recommend it.

Anything Louis Cole does is dope (or at least interesting). My fav is definitely Clown Core (viewer discretion is advised): https://www.bitchute.com/video/GTOe7ewclPkR/

So called "white voice" is a type of folk singing common to all Slavic cultures (although it can be found all across the globe) and is characterized by a very strong, forward-placed resonance, producing a distinct "buzz". The buzz is the raw sound of fully connected vocal folds, not attenuated by any unnecessary tension in the vocal tract.

Anglophone sources speak of this type of singing as a "controlled shout", but this is a huge misconception, in my opinion. I would call it more of a call than a shout. You can hear it in our example below - even quiet, delicate sounds possess the same consistent quality. Too me, it's the most pure type of singing - no mannerisms, no hiding your shame behind various stylizations, no trying to sound impressive.

From my experience, people are either mesmerised by this song or (rarely) find the voice too harsh, too piercing. I wonder how you guys will react.

A lecture by my favorite biologist, Michael Levin, about his (cybernetic) theory of aging.

The ship of Theseus is not really the physical ship, but the plan of the ship that exists in the minds of the workers. It starts to age and degrade when the workers forget the plan or drop the goal of maintaining the ship.

Lifespan (and healthspan) extension could happen by reminding your tissues about their purpose.

Today I took a short break from the grind to play some sad music. One take, one mic - no time to record it properly.

This is The Weight of the World by Antimatter.

Hey, I'm having problems withdrawing funds from api.routstr.com. I wrote a DM to nostr:nprofile1qqsgha3fk023ng8c4quszdayghqwkt6l9d9ga4c3280gnqz3aqqx7ycts6nzx with more details.
