Nostrich

🚀 After a month of back and forth with Apple, Nostrich Deck is finally approved and live on the Mac App Store! Another big milestone as we bring Nostrich to more devices and platforms. https://nostrich.org/downloads

☀️⛵ GM, Nostr! Another major performance optimization went live last night, specifically targeting Android and iOS devices. Our isolated tests across different devices showed a 20–30% improvement in page transition speeds. Things should feel even faster and smoother now.

Nostr power users shaping the future of decentralized internet. ⚡

Nostrich Marketplace is launching soon, connecting sellers around the world with buyers using #Bitcoin.

📈 Cashtags on Nostrich now show an asset’s price when a note was posted, its current price, and the % change since the post.

📸 Nostrich Gallery is coming soon. A simple toggle that transforms your feed and the entire Nostrich app into an Instagram-like experience. Some days we don't feel like reading, we just want to scroll through photos and visual content. That's exactly where Nostrich Gallery comes in. Content curation will be a big challenge as Nostr grows, but we're up for it.

Nostrich never signs in to someone else's relay to deliver a DM, by choice, for privacy. It's a feature, not a bug.

Some NIP-17 inbox relays refuse to accept a gift wrap (kind 1059) unless the sender first signs in with NIP-42 AUTH. Signing that kind 22242 sign-in event with your own key puts your pubkey on the same connection that delivers a wrap addressed to the recipient. The relay can then link sender to recipient, which is exactly the metadata gift wraps are designed to hide. That's a privacy invasion in our opinion, so Nostrich will never sign in to someone else's relay to deliver a DM.

What Nostrich does instead: every gift wrap is signed with a one-time random key and published to the recipient's DM relays (their kind 10050 list), with no sign-in. Nostrich only signs in to your own DM relays, to read the wraps addressed to you, which is the protection NIP-17 asks relays to provide. If none of the recipient's DM relays accept it, Nostrich tells you the message wasn't delivered. It's a privacy feature, not a bug.

We've released a major performance and optimization update to how Nostrich connects to relays. You should notice faster connections, smoother performance, and an improved overall experience.

"Sometimes, building the future takes a little madness."

Your follower count or who you are has no influence on how quickly we act on good feedback. If it’s worth testing, we’ll prioritize it.

Noted! We'll implement DM reactions soon.

Together, we can change that! Nostr will win out of necessity and through incentives.

Yes, you are!

A ton of amazing ideas here. Thanks for sharing!

Good ideas

Reddit to Nostr. Subreddits to specialized clients built around unique communities and interests. Instead of one platform for everyone, thousands of independent communities, each with its own experience, all connected through Nostr. Decentralization at its best.

💯

Best candidate!

Nostrich will aim to become a public company. Our vision is to bring in users who are also shareholders, building a massive community with a stake in what we’re creating. A giant club of users and owners. Think of what GameStop once created, but built around Nostr, Freedom Tech, Privacy, Open Markets and Bitcoin. Soon, we’ll share more.

Genuine question: How do we grow Nostr and bring in people who’ve never heard of it? What are some bold, unconventional, or even radical ideas? #asknostr 💡

⚡ Today we’re launching Zap Campaigns. Since Nostrich Campaigns launched just a couple of weeks ago, hundreds of thousands of sats have already been paid out in rewards. Now you can advertise by zapping a batch of recent notes with your custom message. Authors keep the sats, while your message gets seen. Advertising, Nostr-style.

GM, Nostriches! 💜🧡
