We have open photography submissions year round.
You can also opt-in to have a portfolio review done on your work which many photographers have quite enjoied.
AND, you can also pay with #bitcoin. I'm pretty sure we're the only photography publication in the world right now that does this.
Browse the website, gather some inspo, always looking for feedback as well.

Every chapter of 'Proof of Work' can be unlocked with sats.
That's not a gimmick. It's the point. By the time you reach Part III - where #Bitcoin enters the book - you'll have already used it to get there.
Low time preference, applied.
A book about photography, attention, and honest money. For photographers, creatives, and anyone who thinks carefully about where their time goes.
Chapter 1 is free. Listen, read, and share it with someone who needs to hear it.

Over the past few weeks, we've been quietly working on something that feels like a natural extension of everything we've been building at NOICE.
It's called "Proof of Work"
Part book, part audiobook, it brings together lessons from over a decade of publishing photography, reviewing portfolios, curating work, making photographs, and exploring the ideas of time, value, attention, and sound money.
Over the years, we've come to believe that these subjects are more connected than they first appear. #Photography teaches you to pay attention. Editing teaches you restraint. Building something over the long term teaches patience. #Bitcoin teaches you to think differently about time and value. This project is my attempt to bring those ideas together in one place.
The book contains 30 chapters, an appendix, and complete audio narration so you can listen, read, or move between both. It's also paired with 30 of my own photographs - not as decoration, but as proof of the years spent walking, observing, and making work for the simple joy of seeing.
There are a few ways to access the book, but my favorite is the chapter-by-chapter option using sats. Readers can unlock chapters individually and move through the material at their own pace. It felt like the most honest way to present something that was written to be absorbed slowly rather than consumed all at once.
If you've enjoyed the ideas we've shared through NOICE over the years, I think you'll find something valuable here.
Give it a read. Give it a listen. Share it with a friend.
And if you happen to stumble across a bug or something that feels off, let me know. Building new things is its own form of proof of work.
Thank you for being part of this journey.

SATURDAY SHARE!!!
Every Saturday we round up the photographers of threads community to share our work from the past week, or just all time favorites. Don't be shy, lets see your proof of work.
Q: If there was a tool that could help you today in your photography workflow, what would it be?
I ask because I'm always building tools for myself and then sharing them. See the latest one I made, Matted. And yes, you can purchase it using #bitcoin
https://noicemagazine.com/tools/matted https://image.nostr.build/53c72d53c89ed357da6b67d7531a3ca24386238ea14eab573db5fef484797726.jpg
Working on the most comprehensive, but beautifully simple ebook / app about photography and #bitcoin. This will be fantastic.
NOICE+ is now live.
A membership built around growth, education, honest feedback, and being seen by people whose taste you trust.
Not an algorithm. Not a transaction. A creative home - and one that will continue to evolve alongside the photographers using it.
As a member, you can submit work daily and receive personal written feedback directly from the editor - real responses from someone actually looking at your photographs, sequencing, tones, and intent. No automated replies. No generic approval system.
There’s also the education module: guided lessons on editing, sequencing, presentation, curation, and developing stronger taste as a photographer. More lessons will continue being added based on what members actually want help with.
Members also receive direct messaging access, editor notes, private dashboard access, and all NOICE tools included - including Matted and future tools currently being developed.
And perhaps most uniquely: NOICE is fully #Bitcoin + Lightning enabled.
No ads. No investors. No sponsored content. No algorithms deciding what deserves attention. Just photographers supporting independent publishing and education directly through the hardest money and open networks.
Built slower. Built intentionally. Built for photographers who genuinely care about the craft.

Made this tutorial video on how to use our latest tool, Matted.
Matted is a photo formatting tool built for photographers. Drop in your photos, choose your output ratio (4:5 portrait, 1:1 square, or 9:16 story), set your background color, adjust your padding — and export the whole set as a ZIP in seconds.
Everything runs on your device. No uploads. No account. No subscription required to get started.

Looking for photographers here in the #nostr space who’d be interested in joining us for a podcast or video interview.
We want to spark conversations that go beyond photography—diving into #bitcoin, the future, and deeper topics on life. There’s a noticeable gap on legacy media platforms, where many photographers still aren’t familiar with Bitcoin or Nostr, and we aim to change that.
By sharing your insights and stories, we can help bring more awareness to both photography and Bitcoin.
Interested? Drop a comment, share your work, and don’t forget to pass this note along!
We’ll give 100 sats to everyone who shares 🫂🤘🏼
