What an epic weekend in Nashville.
The energy, excitement, and innovation of this community reminds me of the early days of the internet in the best way possible.
Bands of Bitcoin and the
and
concerts were absolute highlights of the weekend.
Incredible to meet and hang with so many of the insanely talented OG musicians in this space -
, Martin, Andy, and many others - you all rock!
Perhaps what surprised and impressed me most about these musicians and builders was the lack of ego, creating a spirit of collaboration over competition.
This meeting of the minds might just change the trajectory of how we create and share music for years to come.
Leveraging technology to exchange value is a heck of a lot more fun and interesting than being exploited by centralized platforms in an algorithmic race to the bottom.
I started dipping my toes into Nostr and uploading tunes on Wavlake just a few short weeks ago, with little understanding and no expectations.
Now it’s clear that the paradigm is shifting rapidly, and incumbent platforms like Spotify could be rendered obsolete thanks to this motley crew of early adopters, artists, and builders.
Shout out to JL for inviting me up on stage for a spontaneous songwriting session. Jaw-dropping to see what you and your band came up with on the spot!
Jim and Julie, thank you for creating such an epic event, sharing my tunes on your podcast, and for inviting me to fill-in as guest MC for #bandsofbitcoin.
I was totally starstruck when the one-and-only podfather and (accidentally) shared my cameo as guest MC from Bands of Bitcoin on the Podcasting 2.0 show!
Big props to Sam and Michael at Wavlake, Nick and Oscar at , from Tunestr, Jim and Julie Costello from , and everyone else who made this incredible weekend happen.
Thank you all for the warm welcome to the valueverse and for changing the game.
Let’s all make some music in Austin soon!
