YES. Read Warner's post. This is something I've also been writing about for a very long time. Until we fully reckon with the historical foundations of the United States we will not be free. Our nation is still bound to #genocide, land theft, #settlercolonialism, slavery and violent international interventions. We cannot pretend otherwise. We cannot ignore the fundamental truths of this nation.
If we want #freedom and #justice, we must start with the #truth. #democracy #classwar #capitalism
Agreed 100%. ICE is not the problem. The problem is the latent #fascism that was always lurking behind the facade of democracy.
#Democracy in the US has always been a fucking lie, an illusion put in front of the brutal #capitalist machine built on #genocide, #landtheft, #colonialism and subjugation. The white middle class insistence that democracy was real is an expression of privilege and #whitesupremacy.
250 years of #shame, that is the #US. I encourage you to read Zinn's People's History.
You're opposed to #fascism, okay, but what are you FOR?
How do you feel about #capitalism? #Racism? Global #inequality and the #ClimateEmergency? #Genocide? #NeoLiberalism?
We're at a pivotal moment in the US where we have to fight back fascism. Let's do that but what kind of world do we really want? This fight is now inevitable, do we want the end point to be a return to the "normal" of recent decades? I don't.
Let's fight for something better.

While two man-babies in the US throw their tantrums and transfix the profit driven drama machines of the US corporate media, a group of courageous and compassionate human rights activists are confronting Israel head on in an attempt to bring aid and draw attention to the ongoing genocide.
Our attention should be focused on Gaza, not the drama of the two US man-babies (apologies to babies everywhere).

Israel is the embodiment of Trump.
No one should be surprised at the complete disregard for norms and international law. This is an ongoing #genocide and #warcrimes OPEN YOUR FUCKING EYES. IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
"The incident has drawn international condemnation. Several countries, including France, Spain and Italy have said that they plan to summon their respective Israeli ambassadors to demand an explanation for the incident."

"The European Union will review its Association Agreement with Israel. "
Better late than never?
For all of the shame and rage I feel about US support of, complicity in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the EU and it's members have done far too little to oppose the criminality of Israel and the US.

Twelve-year-old Rahaf Ayad is so malnourished she can barely speak. Her hair is falling out. Her ribs protrude. She can hardly move her limbs. She blinks slowly, her eyelids heavy...
Shurooq, Rahaf’s mother, explained that her daughter’s health began deteriorating rapidly due to the lack of food. “If anyone touches her, or she tries to move her arms or legs, she just cries out in pain...

"In the early hours of Monday morning, two massive Hyundai excavators and two Caterpillar bulldozers roared out of the gates of the Ma’on settlement in the South Hebron Hills — illegally built on Palestinian land belonging to the village of At-Tuwani. For residents living in the area, the sight of these “yellow monsters,” as they call them, is an omen: the day will be filled with destruction, and families will lose homes they woke up in just hours earlier."

Liberals in the US rightly criticize MAGA folk as being delusional in regards to the truth of Trump. But when I see those same liberals praising Biden while ignoring his ongoing support of genocide in Gaza I feel the deepest disgust. History will remember Biden for his role in genocide.
"Respect the process".
Uh huh.

"Letter to Representative Jared Golden (D-ME)
Your decision to vote in favor of sanctioning the International Criminal Court of Justice, (ICC) which had ordered Israel to take steps to prevent genocide in Gaza, was dismaying. This recent vote to sanction the ICC by Representatives of Congress erodes the ability of the high court to adhere to the principles of “ International Humanitarian Law, whose purpose is the reduce suffering during war”... #Gaza #Genocide #ICC

She also screened the sort of horrific footage of the aftermath of Israeli attacks in Gaza, with the gory parts left in..."
Truth telling about US/Israel genocide on a major network? It's not nothing but it's far too little, far too late.

So, Luigi Mangione is labeled a terrorist by the same government that deliberately carries out a War on Children?
"In November, over a year into Israel’s genocide in Gaza, a report by the Gaza-based Community Training Center for Crisis Management produced a grim statistic: “Nearly all children in the embattled Palestinian enclave believe their death is imminent — and nearly half of them want to die."

For my fellow US citizens, genocide is still happening and we are partners in it. Everyday, we are paying for genocide.
Given the violent foundations of the US in genocide and white settler colonialism I suppose this is to be expected.

This is the way the US should celebrate "Thanksgiving". Really inspiring to see this kind of energy.
If you are a white middle class "liberal" in the US and feeling depressed, beaten or frustrated, I'd like to suggest that you watch this. THIS is what it is to fight. This is the long game of 532 years of resistance.
Most of us in the US are descendants of settlers and a process of ongoing violent colonialism. This is our history, this not our land.

“The Army was, bottom line, an instrument of a settler colonial empire that was determined to convert Native lands into private property for mostly white settlers,” said Jeffrey Ostler, professor of history emeritus at the University of Oregon and author of “Surviving Genocide: Native Nations and the United States From the American Revolution to Bleeding Kansas.”
The US is good at whitewashing reality.

Long overdue, I've begun updating my blog roll to include podcasts, blogs and websites by indigenous people who continue the struggle against the ongoing white settler colonialism rooted in the US. This is a huge blind spot for white liberal America. It's not ancient history. It's here and now in the manifestation of American #Empire. The core of imperialism, the core of #empire is #colonialism.
The beating heart of America is violence, resource theft, subjugation and #genocide.

Supporting this genocide is US policy. It won't stop because it is intentional.
We have to understand this. This is full US and Israel partnership.
US support of Israel apartheid, settler colonialism, war crimes and genocide will not stop because it is intentional policy. The "warnings" are nothing more than a pretense and a never-ending delaying strategy.

Keep in mind the death toll is likely far higher than the 40,000 reported here which does not include all those killed but still buried under the destroyed buildings. According to the recent Lancet report the real number Gaza toll could exceed 186,000.

The US is a circus of white supremacy. The violence of today rooted in the violence of yesterday. There is a thru line from our foundation in settler colonialism to economic gains based upon slavery to this moment. Today our domestic violence is exported as war profiteering and a foreign policy rooted in constant interventions. A repeating cycle of violence with the goal of resource extraction, resource theft. It is fundamental to America.

"How “permanent” is the US/Israeli plan for a “permanent ceasefire” in Gaza? The intentional vagueness of the proposal to bring a “sustainable period of calm” to the Gaza Strip is the biggest obstacle preventing a deal, argues Michael Hanna of the International Crisis Group.

Biden has no red line. He is a war criminal. The ICC should issue an arrest warrant for him. Now. There should be no special privilege for him.
"Two days after the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to immediately stop its assault on Rafah, Israeli warplanes began to drop bombs on refugee tent camps in what had previously been declared a "safe zone." At least 45 people, including children and infants, were killed in the bombing.

"As Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara highlights, Netanyahu’s deflection and Biden’s complicity in Israel’s invasion of Rafah present a stark contrast to the humanitarian principles they claim to uphold. He emphasizes that if the United States were in Gaza's position, the nation would be mourning the death of 2 million American children after eight months of relentless warfare. #Gaza #Genocide #IsraelWarCrimes
"Democracy Now! speaks with Hala Rharrit, the first State Department diplomat to publicly resign over the Biden administration’s policies backing Israel’s assault and siege of the Gaza Strip.
