Tidal treats users with dignity. It’s a paid subscription service. They collect listening data for recommendations and some marketing, but there’s no big ad machine turning your habits into revenue.

Spotify productuzes users hard. Free tier is pure ad-driven, and even Premium listeners get their detailed listening history fed into targeting systems and shared with ad partners. Your behavior is the product.

I've dumped Twilight on #GrapheneOS because it is closed source AND requires full accessibility permissions which grants the closed source binary the ability to see your entire screen at all times.

Network access can be safely revoked, but apps have demonstrated in the past the ability to shuttle data through side channels.

The risk reward is not there when Android's built-in Night Light can be tweaked to provide a full-time amber experience.

No bloat. Runs smoothly with every single exploit protection enabled. Hardened malloc works seamlessly. No crashing. No spam. No invasive surveillance. No podcasts. No BS. Does exactly streaming music well, with nothing extra, in a well written app.

You can block AI generated music and explicit content. Playlists can be made public in order to share with the family. Prices and catalog roughly equivalent.

Slowly tightening exploit protections on my #Graphene OS devices.

This is tolerable.

Device reboots every night. Any stretch where I don't use for 2 hours. I reconnect WiFi in the AM. My router is on a timer, so it shuts off at 10PM then the WiFi on my phone automatically shuts off a minute later.

Only time I have to reenable USBc data is after verifying

firmware, when burning to microSD via a USBc dongle. Not worth having it universally enabled since it's a massive attack vector.

Using Sparrow on Tails as an online interface to the #Bitcoin network is a little more practical IMO, especially since SeedSigner can be used to generate+verify seeds offline and to sign transactions as needed.

Running Tails has the benefit of locking down the OS (it's read only), encrypting your xpub along with Sparrow's standalone Linux executable within the persistent drive, and finally isolating your interface to the Bitcoin network as though it was a dedicated machine.

Green can be configured to forget the Jade Plus, so the install will remain stock once you disconnect.

Rather than relying on a duress pin to wipe your #GrapheneOS device, risking a federal charge for "deleting evidence", it is probably better to simply set the auto reboot timer to <= 4hrs, thus ensuring that the entire device payload will become encrypted at rest before any forensic tools can crack the running device.

Importantly, this gives you the option to simply wait out the 4hr window by (1) asserting right to remain silent and (2) telling authorities you would be happy to cooperate by way of your attorney, as you are not a legal expert.
