Host of the BTC Sessions - educating the masses how to use, secure and live on Bitcoin.
My Umbrel Media Server tutorial was almost immediately removed from YouTube. Luckily blossom servers are a thing. Here's the same content hosted on Nostr.
Replace Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and more with torrents and Jellyfin on your Umbrel!

I need a crash course in hosting a tutorial using Blossom. Where's the best place to look?
YouTube didn't like my Umbrel Media Server video and instantly removed it.

Just made a video on setting up Hermes agent on your
- either using cloud/frontier OR using local models via something like Bionic.
This will give you an agent on your own segregated machine, but with new updates to Umbrel it also gives you a way to control the Umbrel remotely for literally anything you want to do.
I YOLO'd into some of the permissions just to see what was possible. You should maybe be a tad more cautious than I was 😄

I've been using Qwen 3.8 27b on my local machine for a bit and it's pretty solid! For ease of use I've got it in Bionic (made by LM Studio) which acts as an agent for whatever models you run - able to make files, folders, call tools, link in MCP servers, build apps, build repetitive skills, etc.
The other cool thing is that you can use LM link to share models with any of your other computers - both locally and globally.
I covered it all in this video. If you have yet to dive into the world of local AI, this is the video for you. I start simple, then build up a knowledge base throughout. Please enjoy, and share if you find it useful!

When I launched my new channel Sovereign Sessions, I put out a video on running local AI models for beginners with LM Studio. Today I released the follow up video on how to access this setup remotely.
The first video covered installation, selecting a model, understanding the jargon, and figuring out where local can be useful vs where it may fall short.
For this follow up video, I show how to access your locally AI server from any device in your home via the browser or phone, and even remotely from anywhere on earth.
Please share, LMK how I can improve, and anything cool I should cover in future videos! Also be sure to sub if you find the videos useful.

In this new tutorial I use Silent.Link to get a private eSim on my Graphene phone, using Bitcoin.
One global eSIM with no expiry dates, data around the world, and if you want - inbound SMS with a dedicated number. All paid in Bitcoin, top up any time via lightning. No name, no email, no KYC.
Enjoy the vid, give a share, and LMK what you think.
Also if you have suggestions for more things to cover on the new channel, please comment!

This past week was a nightmare and forced me to reexamine a lot of my assumptions and threat models. Two topics bubbled to the top alot that I thought warranted videos... so I got to work.
How do you use dice to generate your own entropy when creating keys? This video uses dice and the
to accomplish just that, while verifying using an external tool.
Putting trust in a single hardware vendor means having all your eggs in one basket. One tactic may be to keep some of your corn in different devices. Another may be to combine them into a multi-vendor multisig. This video goes through doing the latter - on Sparrow with Trezor, Jade and
, then on mobile with
and Jade.
There's no perfect answer for EVERYONE, but it's worth exploring your options and seeing what works for you.
BTW if you are finding these videos helpful, ALL of my tutorials will now be uploaded to Sovereign Sessions. Join me there:

Today I launched Sovereign Sessions with 3 new freedom tech tutorials.
LM Studio: How do you start with the basics of running AI locally on your laptop? What do all the fancy terms mean? What is your hardware capable of running and where does it fall short? Find out here.
GrapheneOS: The looming threat of OS level age verification, paired with the always-on tracking of Apple and Google are enough to make a lot of people look for an alternative. Graphene is one of the most private OS options for mobile out there. Here's how to install and use it.
Umbrel Pro: When people refer to sovereign computing, it can include a lot of things. Hosting your own files, photos, media, passwords, AI agents, Bitcoin node, etc. The Umbrel Pro is an accessible plug and play way to start setting foot in that world. Here's how to set up and navigate one as you start your journey.
This channel will also be the new home for my Bitcoin tutorials - of which I have a dice roll/Seedsigner video and a multi-vendor multisig video both coming out on Tuesday.

Today will be our 7th Sat Market here in Calgary. Since bootstrapping this local Bitcoin market a couple years ago it has grown into an awesome community that I now feel is becoming self sustaining. Tonight we're expecting between 40-50 vendors and a few hundred people in attendance.
Community members now regularly volunteer to help organize, others step up to help with funding (which was out of my own pocket for most of them), and we're beginning to expand into additional community events so it becomes more of an experience.
I can't wait to see what's next, and I encourage people to build their own local communities that use Bitcoin as money. It's incredibly rewarding and brings everyone together. Will post pics after the event!

Hey everyone! I'm doing a webinar for the
today teaching human rights activists from around the globe about nostr! We've got 50 people in the room and I want to show them what zaps are!
Shoot some over if you're able! I'll forward them onto the HRF afterwards. Thanks all!
Freedom fighters from around the globe are joining Nostr. Let's give them a warm welcome.

This Friday we're hosting our 7 local Bitcoin market in Calgary! We're expecting just shy of 40 merchants, all accepting BTC. We've got tradesmen, farmers, artisans, real estate agents, barbers, masseuses, hypnotherapists, and plenty more!
Love seeing the local Bitcoin circular economy grow.
I'm testing out
right now. No ID, no email address, paid in bitcoin. Randomly generated account number can be used across multiple devices. So far so good!
I'll do a tutorial on this over on Sovereign Sessions when it launches. You can pre-emptively subscribe here:

UUUUUGE. Thanks all!
Also shoutout to
for joining and massively contributing to the journey. LFG team.
As a reminder, you can get sats without ID (which are the best kind of sats!)
I've been messing around with
now that they added lightning and it's pretty seamless. Definitely worth testing if anyone gets the chance. I'll have a tutorial for that when Sovereign Sessions launches this August, but it's basically the same flow as on-chain with some small differences.
Feel free to check out my previous tutorial:

Excited to give this a whirl.
What's a reasonably secure way to use Hermes? Does it have to be on a segregated machine, or is there a good way to sandbox it on your main computer? How difficult is it to give the agent selective access and have it still be useful?
It's pretty neat that I'm sitting here in Europe, hit the zap button while browsing Nostr, and it triggers a lightning payment from my node back home in Canada. Magic!

NEW EPISODE:
welcomed

NEW EPISODE:
Mentor Sessions Ep. 072: Why “2-3 Years to Human-Level AI” Is the Most Dangerous Signal of 2026, Why This Is NOT Just Another Tech Breakthrough But the Start of Superintelligence Deciding Humanity’s Fate, and How Bitcoin Becomes the Only True Neutral Reserve Asset | Dr. Roman Yampolskiy
Tell me about how you've used AI to enhance your work or life. What tools you've found useful vs cumbersome, where you've streamlined things, and how dependent you are on cloud infrastructure vs locally run stuff.
Looking to do a video on
AI for
channel launch. What kinds of things should I cover in it? Any cool features I might miss that I should be sure to include?
I've had this problem before and I can't remember how I resolved it. How do I top up my
account? It won't open my
plugin to pay, and I can't get a QR to scan either.
Stoked about the first ever self hosted AI tutorial I'm working on.
-Install LM studio -Learn to choose the best model for your hardware and use case -Learn terminology: parameters, quantization, context window, tokens -Integrate your local model into your browser as a plugin -Connect to your local AI model from any device in your network -Connect to your model from anywhere on earth

One of the coolest things this year at
was seeing the hunger people have for hands on education and personal responsibility.
Our team with
was a little tucked away in the open source area, but people found us, flooded in, filled the seats, lined the walls, and sat on the floor. They learned cold storage, privacy, multisig, and so much more.
Remember, just because the suits and feds are here, doesn't mean the self sovereign bitcoiners have gone away. Looking forward to doing this again.

New video - how far along the ladder of Bitcoin self-custody are you? What's missing from this list? Would you re-order anything?
Had a blast with the boys tonight!

Anyone try this out yet. Mine just arrived - will try to get a video out the gate soon.
