And ultimately when this easy money is no longer accessible (with interest rates rising) the passion projects disappear, the people and departments working on useless projects get fired, or laid off.

Leading to companies sticking to profitable known fundamentals, with minimal to no risk, or innovation.

But when the ability to borrow new money is harder, while money is still circulating then it forces companies to compete for the money as it enters the system, it forces them to find new ways to capture market share with a fundamentally sound plan , and no cheap market gimmicks.

And when capital risk is taken, it’s a calculated long term investment that will create long term value.
