I’ve been digging back into an interesting project from 2023: the Catawba Indian Nation in the Carolinas and their bid to create a Bitcoin-friendly "Digital Economic Zone" (CDEZ).
Their goal was ambitious—to build a jurisdiction tailored for FinTech banks, DAOs, and digital assets, effectively creating a "Ditch Delaware" alternative right on sovereign tribal land. Looking at their current site, they are still offering LLC and DAO incorporations with a regulatory framework designed to move at the "speed of innovation".
Question for the #Nostr community: Does anyone have boots-on-the-ground info or recent experience with the CDEZ? Is it gaining traction among Bitcoin companies, or is it still in the "early pioneer" phase?
With the eCash Renaissance and the rise of "Guardians" we’ve been discussing, these kinds of sovereign zones could be the perfect "Nuts and Bolts" infrastructure we need for true hyperbitcoinization. 🧱🍊
