Nostr first!
“That Which You Can Do Without” is a collection of what I view as the best nine songs I’ve written in the past five years or so. They’re deeply personal stream-of-consciousness compositions, and now I’ve finally found the time to record them. The songs represent what I was going through emotionally as I became more of a public person, and the insights and feelings that came with that. It's a dreamy album about hope, forgiveness, and letting go.
In an era where AI keeps taking over every creative process, I decided to go in the opposite direction. I recorded all the songs live in my home studio, so these are one-take versions, with me singing and playing guitar simultaneously. Honesty was the goal, as I believe the main purpose of music is to communicate feelings honestly, in a way mere words simply cannot.
After I was done recording, I gave the tracks to my brother Erik, who is an excellent composer and musician (currently the only formally educated one in our family) to let him sprinkle some magic of the project. Erik then added orchestration (strings, organ, mellotron, electric guitars, etc.) to the songs, and then mixed and mastered them properly.
The result is a truly original sounding album, and Erik managed to elevate the songs to heights I didn't know were possible.
For an optimal listening experience where you hear all the details, use headphones!

Ten songs recorded
5/1/2026, 8 engagements
I've spent the last ten days or so recording songs for an album.
In the age of AI, I've decided to go 100% in the opposite direction. Just me and an acoustic guitar, recorded together. I might add some background strings here and there, but that's it.
These are all very personal songs that I've written over the last 5 years or so. The ones that stuck.
I haven't recorded music in a long time. The software feels familiar, but just the right amount of outside my comfort zone.
I'll be sharing this with the world in a couple of weeks. Might try to do a thing on @fountain_app. Might press a few vinyls if people are interested.
Looking forward to hearing what you think about the songs!

What are you afraid of?
Bitcoin is supposed to be decentralized. Its very core idea (pardon the pun) is that no individual or group controls it. That and that it changes as little as possible, which is what makes it good money.
The choices of individual network participants is what makes it tick, tock, next block. What hardware to buy, what software to run, what books to read, where and when to spend it, if ever.
It was always a binary bet. Either it fails, or we enter hyperbitcoinization.
♾️/21M
If that is not what you hope and believe that this will inevitably lead to, you're missing the point.
This is a global revolution, not a gimmick. And the only ones that can keep it that way are you and me. If we can reliably say that it's captured by one or a few entities, it's game over. There is no point anymore.
We're here to protect it from the throngs of people that are playing different games. Fiat minded larpers who exited too early, were scammers all along, or were to inpatient and lacked the conviction to wait for N to g the f**k U.
How each individual chooses to do that is, of course, up to them. But we are the nights watch, guarding the great wall of blocks immortalized in cryptographic amber.
Choose wisely. Do your part. Don't let fear dictate your actions.

Team America perfectly described the current conflict in Bitcoin:
See, there are three kinds of people: dks, psies, and a-holes. Psies think everyone can get along, and dks just want to f all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your a-holes. And all the a-holes want is to shit all over everything. So psies may get mad at dks once in a while, because psies get fked by dks. But dks also f a-holes! And if they didn't f the a-holes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dk and your psy all covered in shit!
We, the plebs, are dks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid ds. And the developers are psies. And the spammers are a-holes. Psies don't like dks, because psies get fked by dks. But dicks also fuck a-sholes. A-holes who just want to shit on everything. Psies may think they can deal with a-holes their way. But the only thing that can f an a-hole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dks is that sometimes they f too much or f when it isn't appropriate — and it takes a psy to show them that. But sometimes, psies get so full of shit that they become a-holes themselves... because psies are only an inch and a half away from a-holes. I don't know much in this crazy, crazy world, but I do know that if you don't let us f these a-holes, we're going to have our dks and p**sies all covered in shit! #BIP110

Potential Nostr attack vector:
Since Nostr has a higher technical barrier to entry, its users will consist solely on people of the right side of the the bell curve.
This may sound like a good thing, but here's what could happen:
The lack of the "shotgun redneck" left-side tail-end of the bell curve can skew political opinions on Nostr to favor the middle-of-the-bell-curve people. You know, the people who pushed for censorship on the legacy platforms.
Add to this that the illusion that one can "delete" posts simply doesn't exist in most Nostr clients. The perceived permanency of Nostr-posting could incentivize people to self-censor more.
In the long run, this could lead to suppression of unpopular political ideas and, following that, people with more "extreme" political views leaving.
WDYT? Legitimate concern or is there another angle here?

All nationalists. All socialists.
Every single politician believes that the state is legit and that taxes and inflation can be morally justified.
Every. Single. One.
Collectivism IS the problem.

Pippi Longstocking showed us the way.
Astrid Lindgren, a woman whose tax rate hit an absurd 102% (yep, over 100%), once penned a satirical takedown exposing the obvious theft of progressive taxation, which actually led to a rewrite of the absurd tax laws.
One of the main reasons for this absurd tax bill (aside from the regular old Jante-Law-type Swedish envy) was the enormous success of her most beloved book character, Pippi Longstocking.
Pippi is the ultimate fearless anarcho-capitalist icon, embodying self-ownership, voluntaryism, and resilience against institutional overreach.
Born to a seafaring pirate king (her birthright as heir to adventure and independence), she inherits a chest brimming with sound money gold coins. No fiat funny paper for Pippi. Only hard assets that can't be inflated away by central banks.
Using her cunning and raw physical strength alone, Pippi fiercely defends her property, Villa Villekulla, against would-be attackers, such as nosy neighbors or bumbling cops trying to "civilize" her, on a daily basis.
Pippi spits on authority at every turn, refusing public schooling and politely telling the people who want to put her in an orphanage to go f themselves. She educates herself through real-world exploits, trading stories and skills voluntarily with her normie friends, Tommy and Annika.
Always taking matters into her own hands, she barters, explores, and innovates without permits or regulations. She never initiates force, yet she’s never afraid to defend her inherent right to be left alone.
Her unlicensed pet monkey and horse are her sovereign companions.
She's an agorist living completely off-grid, and a one-girl revolution ready to debunk the involuntary nature of statist bullshit at every turn.
In conformist Sweden, where fitting in is held in higher regard than anything else, and folks avoid conflict like the plague, Pippi is the ultimate anomaly. She flips the script on passive obedience, inspiring kids and adults alike to question all rules to this day.
No wonder she’s popular there...

I take not taking myself too seriously very seriously.
IMHO, more people should.
Had a great time with Tim Allen on the Free Cities podcast during the Baltic Honeybadger Conference in Riga earlier this year. Check it out! 👇

The biggest hurdle to human civilizational progress is, by far, monetary inflation.
This is the main problem Bitcoin solves.
The reason the problem exists in the first place is that humans cannot resist the urge to debase money.
History clearly shows evidence of this.
From the coin clippers of old to the Federal Reserve, people in charge of money issuance all had one job, and they all failed at it spectacularly.
They couldn't resist enriching themselves at the expense of others.
In Bitcoin, there is no way to increase the money supply.
There are, however, other ways of enriching yourself at the expense of others within the system.
At least as long as there are gullible morons around.
You can pretend that the data involved in a specific transaction has some other value than the value of the sats themselves.
This notion is, of course, absurd, since public data cannot be owned. Everything in the timechain is available for everyone on Earth to see, at all times, forever.
Selling "rare sats" is the equivalent of selling stars in the Andromeda galaxy.
In fact, you cannot even own the sats!
However, you can act as if you own them, since you have access to a Private Key, and realize how implausible it is that someone else also has access to the same key.
Additionally, it is implausible that the 21M cap will ever change.
This is what makes the sat special!
Bitcoin is humanity's best shot at fixing the inflation problem because no one has access to a printer, and everyone has the ability to verify everything in the system for themselves.
Which is why people run nodes.
The sat is the system's internal value-signaling system. Miner fees and rewards are paid in sats.
Whenever someone puts arbitrary data on-chain to fool a gullible moron, they make the entire system a little bit worse, since every full node now has to store that data forever.
Coin clipping didn't change the face value of the coin, but burdened the entire system since there were now more coins in circulation.
Shitcoining on Bitcoin doesn't change the face value of the sat (1 BTC still equals 1 BTC), but it makes nodes more expensive to run.
Increasing node costs does burden the system.
People who make money selling arbitrary data on Bitcoin do so at the expense of every single other bitcoiner.
They are as bad as coin clippers and central bankers.
You don't hate them enough.
Shitcoiners act against the best interests of their fellow human beings.
They are immoral thieves and scammers. Make no mistake about it.
What makes the behavior even worse is that you need a considerable amount of knowledge about Bitcoin to execute these scams.
For more than a decade, they've had the chance to study and understand why Bitcoin is humanity's best chance to solve its own worst self-inflicted problem.
Still, they choose to fuck people over. It's disgusting.
Bitcoin will survive them, but we need to weed them out.
IMHO, shitcoiners shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Bitcoin development.
Their actions clearly show that they're the least qualified people on Earth to influence the future of this value-language.
Before forming an opinion on the current Core vs. Knots debate, ensure you understand the anti-Bitcoin ethos nature of shitcoining.
Especially when done on the timechain.
Scamming is bad enough, but damaging humanity's best shot at world peace in the process? Unforgivable.
So, what can you do?
Call out scams and scammers when you see them! Attack bad ideas, not people.
Don't ever like or retweet a shitcoiner! They love attention.
Block bad actors!
Run a node and refuse to relay shit!
And most importantly - use sats as money.
