Bitcoin Chama

Our tomatoes and cabbages are about 6 weeks old now. They are growing fast and healthy!

We are building our community on #Bitcoin

Build, Earn, save and spend locally till we achieve a self reliant Bitcoin circular community.

One of our members is vying in the next election. Support us and build with us via our geyser page: https://geyser.fund/project/bitcoinchama/goals/1294?hero=kelvinomari

Bitcoin Pizza Day was so much fun in our community!

Last years Bitcoin Pizza Day was so much but how could we top last years? We combined Bitcoin Pizza Day with our first movie night ever in our community!

We had the members share slices of pizza and soda. They ate as they enjoyed a short Educative Bitcoin Documentary and a few videos from circular economies across the world, including ours😅 (Also, we would like some recommendations. We are introducing movie night in our community)

So much celebration, laughter,joy, dancing in a day🍕 🧡

Everything was paid for with Bitcoin⚡

Thanks Laszlo's for giving us this day, it is a reminder that Bitcoin isn't just a whitepaper idea; it's money you can earn, save and spend in.

Big thanks to the Bitcoin community and forever thanks to our patrons @BitcoinEkasi, our community and the Bitcoiners here feel loved because of you all.

Good evening from Bitcoin Chama?

A self reliant Bitcoin circular economy Proof of work? The women have been earning some sats from doing projects at the farms, save in Bitcoin and contribute to the merry go round.

They have been buying each other household items that they lack in there homesteads. Bitcoin is bringing a lot of change in our community. Meeting each and every member and Emporing them differently on their levels not leaving anyone behind!

This turn was Nyarandi's turn, he changed almost all untesils. He also bought a water tank for storing water.

Do you want to contribute to buy an item for the Obomo Chama, zap: [email protected]

Note: Each clan (what we call Chamas) has its own wallet that is transparent to each and every member in the clans. If they save, all the savings go to the clan wallet that everyone can access, but the funds can't be withdrawn without a majority rule!

Good evening from Bitcoin Chama?

We have been busy a for the past few days but we are back!

When Teamwork plus unity plus hardwork meets with Bitcoin magic happens!

Next on the merry go round list (5/21) was Helena and on her turn, she wanted to buy a goat.

She had also been saving on the side and on her turn, we added the total we collected from the chama with the sats she had been saving and she was able to buy a healthy goat.

We keep building on #Bitcoin

Good morning From Bitcoin Chama?

After our recent decision to restock the chicken coop with breeds from our local community which we found productive, we want to also to be able to make a new productive breed.

We are selling the small weak roosters in exchange for buying big and healthy ones, we are Also selling unproductive chicken for new ones.

Trial and error till we get it right before we begin scaling on what we are sure of.

On this day, we had bought a big rooster. Jusper the smaller one we initially had and paid with Bitcoin!

Bitcoin building our community. Brick by Brick. #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote

Good evening from Kisii Kenya?

During our last meeting, we planted seeds in a few beds to use to transplant when they are ready. The vegetables are growing up fast and healthy on the now bigger piece of land.

We are planning on meeting next week to transplant the seedlings to the rest of the farm.

Good morning From Bitcoin Chama?

Bee keeping is becoming one of my fav hobbies nowadays. The whole process is usually so exciting!

We had been told there was a swam of bees down the river. Yesterday evening, we went to collect and re-home them.

We collected the Bees, carried them and put them in one of our hives that did not have Bees yet.

Does this look exciting? Would you want to try? Remember, these are the African wild Bees. Their stings are so painful.

I got stung once while Jusper got stung around six times yesterday. He always likes being stung atleast twice whenever we've visited the Bees. People in our community used to believe that bee stings boost your immunity, so does Jusper😅

Good evening from Bitcoin Chama?

Second time we are thinning the vegetables. We trimmed the splits nicely and sold them in ksh and we later converted it to bitcoin!

Most people love the vegetables when they are young, so the splits are usually on a very high demand.

We sell in fiat and save in #Bitcoin. EVERYTHING in BITCOIN!

The Machankura wallet our community uses has a feature called clans. Every Chama has a clan wallet. Each clan has every of its members in it. When we sell our products, we save the sats in the clan Wallets.

This ensures for transparency and trustlessness among the members and the savings of the clans. As Bitcoin should be. #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote

Good evening from Bitcoin Chama?

Maggy is around 60years old. She is a bitcoiner. She rarely spends her bitcoin. Yesterday being Bitcoin spending Day, she felt obliged to. For food ofcourse, like Laszlo 15years ago.

She bought vegetables from our farm and paid with Bitcoin using Machankura wallet.

Update:

The most interesting part of the Bitcoin Chama project just started!

We have been looking for a piece of land to lease where we will grow vegetables for the chama women in our community (we are still deciding names for the chama, btw).

Over the weekend, we sat with the owners of this piece of land, drew an agreement and paid for it for one year!

We now have a piece of land🥳🥳🥳

If you wish to support our community projects, please donate via geyser Update:https://geyser.fund/project/bitcoinchama?mtm_campaign=project-share&mtm_keyword=bitcoinchama&mtm_source=creator&mtm_medium=geyser&mtm_content=contribution-summary #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote

We are finishing the kitchen coop project for one Chama. Today we are going to a farm to buy chickens for the coop. We've been to two farms but we haven't found the chicken we are looking for.

We just made a stop to eat and rest for a bit before going to the third farm.

I paid for our lunch with Bitcoin via Tando! #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote

Good evening from Bitcoin Chama? We started a chicken project for our community youth chamas a few days ago. We are finalizing construction the coop.

We rewarded the youth at the end of the day some sats for using Machankura wallet.

Good evening from Kisii Kenya?

We've been experiencing drought for the past few weeks. Fortunately, people don't have to climb down the hill to collect water, they have access to free clean water

Thank you Bitcoin for making this happen. #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote

Last week we went on a hike to Mt Longonot.

On our way to and back, we only used Bitcoin to pay for the bills thanks to Tando app!

The Bitcoin economy is growing very fast in kenya! We will be an orange country soon #Bitcoin #Bitcoinkwawote
