⚡

Why does money exist?

In a barter economy, 6 goods mean knowing 15 exchange rates. With 500 goods, it’s almost 125,000. And each person still has to want exactly what the other one has.

Money solves both: a single good everyone accepts in exchange for everything else.

A clip from our intro-to-money workshop. 📚

⚡️ Projeto There’s no second best (flexible load)

⚡️ Project There’s no second best (flexible load)

Over the past two decades, the global focus on renewable energy has made power grids more expensive and less resilient due to the intermittent nature of wind and solar generation.

Events such as the 2021 Texas blackout and the 2025 Spain blackout have demonstrated these weaknesses, with severe economic consequences and loss of life.

At the same time, new demand-side pressures such as AI inference loads introduce additional challenges. This talk explores these events and examines how integrating Bitcoin mining, both FOTM (front of the meter) and BTM (behind the meter), can help stabilise power grids.

With relatively low CAPEX (capital expenditure), rapid deployment, and the ability to relocate, Bitcoin mining stands out as the most effective flexible load available.

Creating an “Antifragile” Energy Infrastructure with Bitcoin Mining

⚡️ Project

Creating an “Antifragile” Energy Infrastructure with Bitcoin Mining

Kenji Tateiwa will speak on how Bitcoin mining is key to building an antifragile energy infrastructure.

As the use of variable renewable energy increases, power grids face rising curtailment, congestion, and instability. Traditional solutions are often slow and capital-intensive.

Bitcoin mining, by contrast, is one of the most flexible loads ever created, time-agnostic, location-agnostic, instantly interruptible, and modular from kW to MW to GW.

Through its MegaWatt to MegaHash (MW2MH) model, Agile Energy X demonstrates how mining can monetize stranded power, relieve grid congestion, stabilize frequency, and accelerate renewable deployment.
