Meanwhile, the #Indie #artist / #podcast crowd are #streaming & dropping their #music & content on #Nostr services, getting paid (w/zero middle-man) & making more than they ever would on a centralized platform. And they're doing all of this while leaving it entirely to the free market to decide in a meritocratic way. 💁‍♂️

After catching up on the #Nostr #holiday timeline & seeing all the #foodstr posts, I just became WILDLY self-aware that my #Christmas dinner this year was 8 beers & half of a relatively stale baguette (which I subsequently woke up next to the remnants of, because I had rolled all over it & crushed it in my sleep). 🫠

#Bitcoin / #BTC does not fix this. 🤷‍♂️

I fucking hate this holiday because it's when my dad died. I had to prepare his body & lower him into the ground within 3 days (look up Muslim burial procedures; it's fucking traumatic). 🥹

A few days later (in that exact same #Christmas season), I had to fly to the US with my mom because she needed major cancer surgery, so this season is a constant reminder of loss & suffering for me. 🫠

I implore that you all hold your loved ones tightly, verbalize your affection for them & smile fondly when you think of those that are no longer with us; you never know what this crazy life brings. 💁‍♂️

I am all alone this year, halfway around the world from my tiny little island home (by choice), but I hope that all of your lives are filled with tons of laughter, good food, warm memories & amazing people. 🙏

Never take that shit for granted or leave things unspoken because love is all we really have & no amount of #BTC / #Bitcoin will bring back the people that matter most once they leave. 🤷‍♂️
