This short video by Derrick Broze of The Conscious Resistance has a great summary of how decentralized self-governance brought free and independent living to people who were previously continuously lied to and hurt for many years by their corrupt government leaders. They decided they had enough and banned authorities, politicians, and even police from their communities... with great results.

It's kind of annoying when trying to explain anarchy to people who have been misled into believing it's something it isn't... and so they make comments or have tangents about it.

If you ignore tyranny and create your own life, there is peace. Anarchism is just like that true peace.

When I'm talking to people who are misinformed about anarchy or have misunderstood it, I tell them to really look into it if they want to stop feeling black-pilled and terrible toward the world today, with all the existential angst that political BS and doomscrolling can bring about.

I start by explaining that the stuff they show on TV news of people destroying things is NOT anarchy. Anarchy means no RULERS, not no rules, because anarchists are peaceful people who are not governed by anyone and especially not usually each other (except we may often decide on things by taking polls, using sociocracy, and people volunteering their leadership and expertise in certain areas) but only act voluntarily, practice good morals/manners, know how (or share how) to do things for ourselves, as well as help others without being taxed to or forced to (i.e., mutual aid).

These are obviously just examples in my own words. What do YOU say to people when you would like them to understand anarchy better?

PS - I'm not asking for tips, I am asking people what they usually say about it in discussions with others.

Begging teh gubmint for your freedoms is lulz and a waste of time

Petitions, writing your congressperson, standing on capitol grounds screaming and waving signs, etc., does absolutely nothing but get everybody divided, distracted, and wound-up. Move on.

They won't do what you ask, or they'll do it, but with stipulations, regulations, cramming it into another bill among stuff you don't agree with, or other assorted fuckery that doesn't help anyone, only violates your free dumbs even more than before.

A truly stateless society is a wonderful idea, but seeing any country adopting statelessness en masse in our lifetime is a pipe dream. All agorists would be better off just working to de-legitimize the state, rather than waiting around hoping everyone jumps on board their utopian fantasy while complaining about the state's every tyrannical move. To best achieve this, agorists could simply ignore and bypass the state as much as possible by creating their own parallel systems, replacing similar systems with new ones not enforced by authoritative governments & establishments, and their own economy.

Gm everyone. I have temporary hair color all over my head, and as soon as 45 minutes are up, I'm in the shower and out the door. Last night, I made 6 qts of chili to bring and my nephew will help us serve it. I also have my jerky and stuff packed up... for my booth at the Agora Market we'll be at all day. We only have five vendors this month and the fair weather idiots here in MN think it's "cold" today (upper 50s-low 60s F lol), but hopefully we get some good traffic and do well anyway (hoping the chili helps, someone else is bringing hot coffee, and another made chocolate chip cookies).
