BTW, the Elizabeth Holmes clip lead me to discovering Nathan Fielder and "Nathan For You". If you didn't know his work making people uncomfortable, I suggest you torrent it.

Might right at your alley

Listening for the second time now and liking it more. Listen to the whole thing, it's packed

Dispatch from fiatland. A horror beyond just KYC info.

Decided to park some remaining fiat somewhere with a less insulting rate. Picked the bank with the best offer. Had to open an account. They have three options:

• selfie
• government eID (mObywatel)
• verify via an existing bank account

Rejected the first two. The third sounded like the quick old-school way I used to open accounts years ago.

Turns out it's not anymore. The bastards no longer accept a quick transfer from another bank like back then. Now they demand years of account history from your previous bank via API.

WTF?! Account not opened.

I just heard of huggingbay.xyz, a Pirate Bay for Hugging Face models. A haven for people fearing Anthropic will now track down uncensored data sets.

You think it's a good use for Napstr with them models being very large files!?

GM! Another cost saving story.

Went to buy a watch for a birthday gift. I was asked if I have their app. I don't. Price is 195 if I register. I asked what's the regular price.

• 270
• No thanks, just today I deleted one loyalty app.
• We can use our phone if you want.
• Right... So, what data do you collect? - Phone, name, birthday, sex, ...
• Um, no, I'll just pay the regular price.

Ackward silence.

I pay 195. No data given.

So what happened there?

stop, I want your impression of after first 70 seconds

Cost saving tip based my experience below:

daughter goes to computer graphics class among other tools they use adobe something get a subscription, months later of (21 EUR/mo) decide to cancel 100 EUR cancellation fee, wtf! open support chat on, tell bot the situation, ignore answer, ask for human tell human want to cancel and request waiving of the fee get proposed 2 months gratis thank for the proposal, ponder on the offer a bit I'd pay in subscription until the end of the term more decide to stick with cancellation back-and-forth with auth codes "I have cancelled your plan and waived the fee"

Hurray! 100 eur fee avoided! Damn that Adobe...

Lesson: try your luck with humans

takes 10GB of iPhone space. When it starts it does the compaction, but it takes a LOONG time to start and it does it every time :-(

At this stage no compaction can yields any better result.

Perhaps it could be made a bit smarter when to compact and when not to?

Even in the 30+C summer heat, Cracow is great for a well planned

Any Guthrie Govan fans here?

"The website ngofiles.de has been online since yesterday and transparently sheds light on the funding and networks of state-funded NGOs.

Already after just 24 hours, it is clear how explosive the topic is, as the site is being massively attacked by hackers. This shows how uncomfortable the truth apparently is for some." [1]

They kicked the hornet's nest. Should they post on Nostr? Have the swarm headed toward us?
