be me help my little one with some kiwi box thing theme is organs~ making a brain, heart, stomach place yarn on brain for wrinkles doesn't stick well—meh stuff cotton in heart for filling barely closes—oh well "sew" stomach together oops~ put all the cotton in the heart "don't worry dada, we can use the brain worms~!" little one shoves all the brain yarn into the stomach—whatever sew it closed somehow little one is petting the brain~ "look how smooth it is, dada" rofl.gif mfw we made an enlarged heart, a stomach filled with worms, and a smooth brain

being a dad in an #FLR has been an interesting shift in how i view fatherhood.
instead of presiding over the family as "man of the house," the way i love and support is more like a reliable foundation for them. and it also means i've been much more involved and present in the everyday moments of the little one's life than what was expected of previous generations.
though i'm not sure if this is an effect of the FLR dynamic, a response from my own experiences, or just the cultural trend at the moment...

you ever marvel at how fast little kids can flow through emotions? they get a little tired then overwhelmed by the smallest things, then two seconds later—it's all good like nothing happened. just business as usual. why are you still on that, dad~?
whereas with adults, something that irritates or frustrates us can just linger or take a bit more conscious effort to flow through.
