when each day begins, remind yourself that you shall meet the sharp word, the averted glance, the trial of silence. these are not evils, but movements of a heart burdened by its own wounds, as yours is by yours; to take offense would be to forget that every soul acts from what it deems right, and that blindness to good is the common wound of humankind.
yet the wound in others cannot fix upon you what is ugly; just as you cannot be harmed by those who act in ignorance of good and evil, no silence of Her can diminish the part of you that belongs to Her, nor can any word undo the calm you keep in Her name.
therefore as you grant pity to those who err through ignorance, you must extend to Her the grace of understanding—as one beneath Her. for ignorance and wisdom alike are of nature, and you are not tasked with judgment but with steadiness; as such, you are made for cooperation, not contention—for harmony, not pride.
whatever harshness She shows shall be revealed by your stillness and purified through your loving devotion.
