My fellow Americans,
We did not abandon the word #war because #peace had been achieved. We abandoned it because war had become too easy to continue.
When war was named, it was debated. When it was debated, it was limited. When it was limited, it could be ended.
Today conflict hides behind softer words β defense, security, operations β and because it is not named honestly, it is not questioned fully, voted on clearly, or ended deliberately.
A free people cannot consent to sacrifices they are not allowed to name.
This is not fear-mongering. It is constitutional clarity.
Peace is not naΓ―vetΓ©. Peace is discipline. Peace is the courage to demand that power be named, limited, and accountable.
Call things by their proper name β or one day wake up having lived inside a war you were never asked to approve.
