🧠 WORD WAR: HOW “NAZI” CHANGED IN 100 YEARS

1920s–40s
“Nazi” = a REAL political party + state ideology
→ German National Socialism, genocide, total war.

1950s–80s
“Nazi” = HISTORY lesson + cautionary label
→ “Never Again.” Used to name genuine fascism.

1990s–2000s
“Nazi” = metaphor expands
→ “Grammar Nazi,” “Control freak Nazi.”

Or as MULTIPLICITY of others have named me: “ #FemmeNazi “ 😂😘😜

Word begins losing precision.

2010s–now
“Nazi” = MEDIA WEAPON
→ Label applied to political opponents, protestors, or internet enemies.
→ Used to SHUT DOWN debate, not describe ideology.

WHAT CHANGED?
The word went from
📚 definition → ⚠️ warning → 🗯️ insult → 🎯 social weapon

MEDIA EFFECT:
Overuse = emotional shortcut.
No nuance. No evidence. Just stigma.

RESULT:
Real #Nazism gets trivialized
AND critical thinking gets bypassed.
