seedphrases always felt insane to me. 12 words and if someone finds them they can steal all your money. please use multisig.

too many private trackers still on accept on chain btc and random shitcoins for donations. they should accept lightning or cashu with auto melt to self custody in the background. i would love to work on this.

spent the last few days working on cashu me restore. we support automated mint backup over nostr. an nsec is derived from seed and encrypts your mint list then publish it to relays.

turns out it was a skills issue on my part. on july 9th i installed primal on an android device. this caused zaps to be sent to that wallet. no funds were lost. i was able to sweep the funds then restore my android primal instance with my seed phrase and now both devices and wallets appear to be in sync. issue should be solved going forward.

wallet hasn't received a single zap since july 9th. i get zapped but the money never comes in. nothing but problems since the 'upgrade' to spark.

it used to be one of my favorites. now it's slow, bloated, and broken. i'm literally just losing money at this point. what a disaster. it makes me so sad to have lost such a reliable wallet.

did a big sweep of cashu me tonight. found a lot of inconsistencies between ios and android on bolt12 and on chain. spent the day fine tooth combing to get parity between the two.

onchain is also closer to parity between ios and android. android wasn't querying the block explorer from the onchain receive. now both poll every 30s and both ask the mint if the quote is paid.

working on a flow for paying a cashu request that only accepts specific mints.

in this example the user selects one of the payee's specified mints and it processes the payment in one sweep.

inb4: why not just use ln? this paticular flow assumes a cashu request was scanned. if it was a bolt11 invoice or bip321 it would default to a ln payment and this would be very simple.

i'm smoothing the animations next. they're very jarring and unpolished right now.

i love phoenix. but even after years i've never built muscle memory with it. imo the receive options are overwhelming. trying to consolidate on cashu me. such a hard problem to solve.

i think one thing phoenix does right is immediately defaulting to an amountless bolt11 invoice with the qr displayed. it's nice to instantly provide the payment affordance after tapping receive. we can do a better job of that on cashu me.

it's kinda funny that cash is anonymous by accident and now we have to make digital cash anonymous on purpose.
