Spending your bitcoin just got an upgrade⚡️💚

Really love our new look! We’ve put so much time, thought, and work into this one. Hope you love it as much as we do and that it makes spending your bitcoin even easier. Go update your Tando app and let us know what you think!

We need more Bitcoin conversations in rooms that aren't already Bitcoin rooms.

If you enjoy the freedom that Bitcoin gives, you're going to enjoy the freedom, peace and quiet of flying above the clouds over the Amboseli. Trust me on this one😉

Hope to see some of you in June here in Nairobi for the Adopting Bitcoin Nairobi conference https://ke26.adoptingbitcoin.org/ (24-25 June)

“Across Kenya, small businesses are powered by women. Mama mbogas, shop owners, salon operators, farmers…. etc.

In fact, women own nearly half of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Kenya, driving the informal sector that creates most of the jobs in the country.

Women understand money. How it moves. How to save it. And how to make it work.

Now imagine weaving Bitcoin into that everyday flow.”

Happy International Women’s Day. I encourage all of you to take that first step and start exploring the tools shaping the future of money, like Bitcoin. There is so much we can build, innovate, and change with it.

A good day to learn at the African Bitcoin Circular Economy Summit⚡️

Hey

Spotted during my morning walk today 🤭 Only in Nairobi can you do a city stroll and run into wild animals.

And yes, Nairobi is also the city where you can live on Bitcoin with

Win-win😉

We go again this year💚⚡️

Grateful to see our project

Happy New Year🥳

Day 2 of trying to make the perfect omelette. I need to get these skills right!

I wanna Nostr more in 2026 about life, Bitcoin & everything in between🤞

Why love?

Had a lovely session with the moms of Bitcoin Babies . We talked about more than just Bitcoin. Life, experiences, and everything in between. It was really special❤️….

How do DMs on nostr work??

I replied to a DM using Amethyst. My reply doesn't show up in any other nostr client, ever. Refresh. Restart. Nothing. It looks like I ghosted them.

My reply sometimes shows up in Amethyst. Sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out what makes the reply visible sometimes.

I have no confidence the recipient has seen my reply. Or that it was even sent out to the network for that matter. If I saw my reply in at least one other client that would give me some confidence it was sent.

What would you suggest?

Set your reminders⚡️

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

-a time to be born and a time to die,
-a time to plant and a time to uproot, -a time to kill and a time to heal,
-a time to tear down and a time to build, -a time to weep and a time to laugh,
-a time to mourn and a time to dance, -a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
-a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, -a time to search and a time to give up,
-a time to keep and a time to throw away, -a time to tear and a time to mend,
-a time to be silent and a time to speak, -a time to love and a time to hate,
-a time for war and a time for peace.

Felt so seen😭😂

I was talking to a friend today. She’s doing really well for herself. Got a solid job an year ago, recently got promoted, moved to a nice apartment, even went on a vacation for her birthday this year. She’s doing everything right.

But she also mentioned how hard it’s been to actually save. Every month, after paying her bills and treating herself (which she deserves), the rest of her money ends up going back home. Family. Responsibilities. What we call “black tax.”

And the thing is, it’s not that she doesn’t want to help. We all want to take care of our parents. But it becomes this cycle: the more you grow, the more your family assumes you’re rich, and that help turns into an obligation.

What’s crazy is, most of our parents still work. They have jobs. They just can’t do much with what they earn anymore because the money itself has lost value. Inflation quietly steals from them every day, and we’re left picking up the pieces.

That’s what got me thinking. Black tax wouldn’t exist on a #Bitcoin standard.

Because if money actually held its value, if people could save and build long-term, families wouldn’t be stuck starting over every generation.

This is why Bitcoin is important for young people, especially here in Africa/Kenya. One, to save in something that holds value. And to finally break the cycle.

I’ve been preaching Bitcoin to her for a while. I hope this experience finally nudges her to start saving in it/take it seriously.

Karibu Kenya🇰🇪, where you can live entirely on bitcoin⚡️

Visiting Kenya? You don’t need to worry about currency swaps or local SIM cards to pay with M-PESA. With your

app and a Bitcoin Lightning wallet, you can pay like a local anywhere M-PESA is accepted, in seconds, and with zero transaction fees.

If you’re Kenyan and already hold bitcoin, you don’t have to swap it for KES or USD to spend it. Just download Tando and spend it directly to send money, buy goods, or pay bills, all wherever M-PESA works.

Enjoy Kenya the Bitcoin way⚡️

Tando x Cash App, pretty awesome⚡️. And a reminder: Tando works with any Bitcoin Lightning wallet.

We also have a “bring your own wallet (BYOW)” approach, so you come with the wallet you trust, custodial or non-custodial. That’s one of the best things about it.

You choose what fits you, whether it’s privacy, speed, ease of use, or full control. We don’t decide that for you and that’s what real sovereignty looks like😉

Whenever I hear people talk about Bitcoin as freedom money, I always come back to this question, are you spending it? Because to me, that’s what freedom really looks like. Being able to transact outside fiat systems, on your own terms.

If you’re still relying on broken fiat for your daily transactions, are you really free? Probably not. Fiat ties you to currency controls, inflation, and corrupt banking systems, all the things Bitcoin was designed to free us from. That’s why spending bitcoin matters because it’s about using a tool that gives you full control over your money. And with tools like

there’s no excuse not to use bitcoin for everyday payments right here in #Kenya🇰🇪

When you actually spend bitcoin, you prove it works. You show that it’s not some unreachable, magic internet money. It’s functional. It moves. It serves real needs. That everyday usage is what transforms Bitcoin from just a foreign concept into something living and credible.

And when people see bitcoin being used, it clicks. The fear and confusion start to fade. It’s no longer abstract. They begin to understand it, not through theory, but through experience. That’s how trust grows. That’s how adoption spreads.

And as more people start spending bitcoin, something powerful happens, merchants begin to accept it. That’s the start of a real circular economy. One where you can earn in bitcoin, save in bitcoin, and spend in bitcoin, without ever needing to touch fiat.

But it doesn’t stop there. Real usage leads to more diverse users, more use cases, and more regions coming on board. That kind of growth doesn’t just spread bitcoin, it strengthens it. It decentralizes the network socially and economically, not just technically. And that matters, because a Bitcoin network that’s actively used by millions of people across cultures and borders becomes incredibly hard to stop. It becomes too useful to ignore. Too embedded in everyday life to shut down. Just like the internet.

So every time you spend bitcoin, you’re doing more than just making a payment. You’re helping bring it to life. You’re shifting it from being a quiet, passive asset to a living, breathing network of real value exchange. And that kind of activity is what drives growth. It drives security. It drives real freedom.

That’s what makes spending bitcoin so important and that’s what nostr:nprofile1qqs97ekh6cxykm34l0m5ddrlymhj9rxrys3jemtf90psy3nysum0lkcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzvuhsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0aycgm0 is here for. Because when you spend your bitcoin through Tando, you’re not just using an app, you’re participating in the future of money.

And if you’re not spending your bitcoin yet, I hope this gives you a little nudge in that direction.

Africa Bitcoin Day was a blast🧡!! Always a pleasure to talk Bitcoin and

We had a meaningful conversation on Bitcoin’s infrastructure in Africa and for me, the core of that discussion always circles back to localizing Bitcoin products.

I believe this is key: making Bitcoin feel like a natural extension of tools people already know and trust. In Kenya, that means things like M-Pesa and Saccos. When Bitcoin is designed to fit within those familiar frameworks, it stops feeling foreign or overly complex and instead becomes just another, better way to save and spend money.

Because at the end of the day, people need to see bitcoin for what it truly is: money. In fact, better money. And to use it that way, they need tools that are simple & intuitive, just like the tools they already use every day. No one needs to understand every detail under the hood. We don’t ask that of cars or smartphones, and Bitcoin should be no different.

As builders, that’s our job: to simplify the experience. To compress the technical layers and present Bitcoin in a way that’s straightforward, relatable, and usable, so it can actually serve the people it’s meant to empower.

Are you truly living, or just surviving?

I recently sat on a panel at The Core’s recent graduation on “Why Bitcoin,” and this was the core of my message.

Most people are stuck in a cycle: wake up, work, hustle, pay bills, repeat. They give it their all, yet it never feels like enough, not because they’re doing something wrong, but because they’re trapped in a broken system. A system that forces them to chase money that loses value every single day.

It’s easy to think life is getting more expensive, but the truth is, it’s not. It’s that the money we’re working so hard for is losing value, thanks to inflation. It quietly steals from us, every day, without us even realizing it. So we keep hustling harder and harder, but no matter how much we work, it feels like we’re stuck in place.

This is why hustle culture has taken over. We're told to grind, to juggle side hustles just to stay afloat. But this isn’t a flex; it’s a response to a broken system. And it's exhausting.

And that's where Bitcoin comes in.

Bitcoin is more than a financial system. It's freedom. It’s the soundest form of money in the world, scarce, decentralized, and built to protect value. Unlike fiat, it doesn’t erode your savings. It holds its worth, and over time, it can even grow.

When your money holds its value, you don’t have to keep running just to stay in place. You’re no longer forced to trade all your hours for cash that quietly loses meaning. You get to reclaim your time and with it, your life.

Bitcoin gives you the space to breathe. To be human again. To spend time with your family. To rest. To create. To do the things that truly matter. To live, not just exist.

I encourage you to study Bitcoin. Explore it. Learn what it stands for. Don’t wait until it’s too late to understand what could change everything. Bitcoin isn’t just money, it’s the freedom to live on your terms. Choose to live Because life is too short to just survive. Let’s live🌍✨

I wrote more about this topic on Habla https://habla.news/a/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzqfvs9vg2jjjffw3la4yn6g2gufggt9r0k9lydmctqq5y4e8hqdx5qqxnzde5xsmrvvp48yurvvfj003yhx. Feel free to read, share your thoughts, and let’s continue this conversation.

Merchants are truly the heartbeat of Bitcoin circular economies. They’re the ones keeping the flow alive, offering the goods and services people need every day. But here’s the thing: they also need a way to use the bitcoin they earn. They need to restock, pay suppliers, and keep their businesses running.

That’s exactly where

steps in, giving merchants the power to convert their BTC into real-world value, and keeping the momentum of the circular economy going.

Hearing from merchants at

‘s meetup who’ve found Tando helpful in their day-to-day operations? That was deeply humbling. It reminded me why we do this.

We’ll keep showing up and delivering value where it matters most💚⚡️

What an incredible privilege it is to learn, grow and see the world with curiosity instead of fear😊
