Nostr Compass
Nostr Compass is a technical resource for the Nostr protocol, helping developers, relay operators, and builders stay current on protocol evolution. We publish weekly newsletters covering NIP proposals, client updates, relay developments, and notable code changes. Our podcast features conversations with the developers building Nostr. The topic index documents key concepts with links to primary sources. Podcast: https://podcast.nostrcompass.org

Nostr Compass 1.4.0 for Android replaces the horizontal section list with a vertically scrollable timeline. Open Sections or tap the topic in the recording bar, choose a heading and jump there. A slim indicator beside the newsletter shows roughly how much reading remains.
The recording bar stays at the bottom while you scroll. Before recording, its topic follows the section you are reading. Once a take starts, it keeps that section until you finish, even if you scroll elsewhere.
Pause stops microphone capture. Resume continues the same take without adding the paused interval to the audio. Review saves your take and opens playback, trimming and voice-effect controls. Send saves and queues it directly, without opening another review sheet or moving the newsletter. Amber may still request signature approval.
Your take stays on the device before sending. Send records the upload request locally before the activity can close, and incomplete uploads retain their existing checkpoints for retry. Sent audio and signed Nostr notes are public. Device storage failure or uninstalling the app can still destroy local data.

Help keep these ideas circulating
This is an independent project. If you'd like to help support it, you can make a contribution. But there's no obligation at all. Reading, sharing, and coming back is already a form of support.
