The protestant idea of government is that providing corrupt men with a monopoly on force would lead to an outpouring of corruption and dire conditions for the citizenry.

Therefore, government should be severely constrained in size and scope to the express purpose of defending life and property.

This is why I say there is no-one alive who would recognize the protestant invention of liberalism. It would be alien to us in terms of it's vast freedoms and responsibilities.

Today's liberalism... isn't liberalism. It is a non-stop social revolution aimed at some form of gay communism.

Freedom with God = liberty. Freedom without God = ruin.

So insofar as classical liberalism is properly defined as the anglo-protestant foundation of the West, I support it.
