Looked into spending bitcoin in Canada today. Biggest laugh. Best tech is gift cards. Send sats, get Amazon code. Ten years on….Monero is no different. Are we early or is this never gonna happen…? :btc: :xmr_coin: #bitcoin #xmr #Canada #nostr

I like trying out different Nostr clients and right now the one sitting on my dock is Nostrich. Best overall user experience. The only thing missing is Monero tipping alongside zaps. Add that and it's THE nostr app. #nostr #nostrich #monero #zaps

GM. School run was 8 minutes late obviously. My daughter gave ME the stare. She hates being late. Meanwhile I'm the one driving and somehow it's still my fault.

Right after dropping her off I left the car at the garage for the tire swap. Going all weather this year. Quick note for my USA friends: up here in Canada we legally have to swap to winter tires from December to March. Yes, the government checks. No, your all-seasons don't count. Your all-seasons are what we call "summer." You're welcome. If these all-weather tires survive a Montreal winter and my driving, they deserve a statue.

Anyway, since the car stayed there, I walked home in the rain. Right shoe squeaking every step like it was charging me rent by the meter. Two Montreal pigeons stopped and stared. That's when you know you've made it.

Soaked, carless, and this is officially my cardio for October.

Good morning indeed.

Montreal has been one giant police playground since the weekend. Cycling event, roads blocked, Old Port sealed off, and cops everywhere doing their best Napoleon impression. One of them decided to yell at me today. Big mistake. The Balkan blood kicked in and I delivered a curse package so complete it covered every woman in his family tree, including branches he didn't know existed. He stopped yelling. Funny how that works.

Every time I watch them hand out tickets to people just trying to get home, Animal Farm plays in my head. All animals are equal, but some get paid overtime to stand in the middle of a closed street pointing at another closed street.

I don't hate cops as a species. I just have zero patience for men in costumes who discovered authority last Tuesday and are still in the honeymoon phase.

If you need me this week, I'll be the guy arguing with a traffic cone.

GM.

Rain on the window, coffee going cold, and Mateo snoring like he pays rent.

The world runs on promises and paper. My little corner runs on proof of work.

Some things just don't need a middle man.

Have a good one out there.

Went to an open door visit with my youngest daughter today. She is starting high school next year. Wish my wife could have come too but she's home recovering from surgery. So it was just the two of us.

We saw the whole place. Classrooms, labs, gyms, and all the programs they offer. Sports, art, science, you name it. My girl is the outgoing type so I have a good feeling about this school. Hope she gets in.

Man, walking those hallways brought me back. My own high school, late 80s early 90s…That's where I made friends for life and turned from a kid into almost an adult. One of the most important times of my life, honestly. That's what I wish for her. Find what lights her up, put her energy into it.

Everyone talks about AI and how nothing is the same. Maybe so. I still believe in people. And learning is part of that.

Added a Monero payment target. Some say that's bad. I say you do you. Nostr lets everyone be themselves. Zap me in sats, Monero xaps, seashells, or a thumbs up. Doesn't matter. I'm here because it feels real. No matter what you zap with, I'll smile when it lands. 🤝

Open question: how do you see payment targets on your end? On iPhone it's not as straightforward as on Android and web. 👀 Would love for iPhone apps to sort that out someday.

Labour Day Monday. Streets quiet, sun out, family bike ride. Best kind of holiday. 🚴
