I have ideas about fixing the usernames on #Mostr https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/mostr/-/issues/44#note_2235278380
#Mostr Bridge got an upgrade. 👀
Now NIP-05 names on the bridge have a separate subdomain for each ActivityPub server.
For example: [email protected] has become [email protected]
This means that from Nostr, each ActivityPub server can be treated separately, for indexing and moderation purposes.
On #Ditto you can now look at a feed each ActivityPub server separately. And they even display a favicon from the upstream server!

Finally the bridge is working correctly. #Mostr

Thinking about subdomains on #Mostr.
For example instead of alex_at_gleasonator.com[@]mostr.pub, I'm thinking alex[@]gleasonator.com.mostr.pub
Why? Because then each Fediverse server can be distinct on the Nostr side using regular nip05 domain filtering.
In the other direction, I'm thinking about doing basically the same thing. I would go ahead and let Mastodon catch on fire over the fact you can't change usernames.
#Mostr bridge is working better now. I added more metrics and discovered an issue with publishing that I fixed. It's still not perfect but it's better.
See: https://grafana.soapbox.pub/dashboard/snapshot/9CgY0tWcbWoGsbGKgBMQM3wypV7Zg9xY
I set up metrics for #Mostr. This will be very helpful.
Now I have to wait a few hours for them to populate. But my preliminary thought is that we have a suspicious amount of 404s, and I had to kick the relay to get it start producing events for the bridge again. So the strfry relay itself is a major problem of this bridge.
Also it's interesting that in both ActivityPub and Nostr, people write posts more often than they Like/React to posts, which goes against the conventional wisdom.
