✍️ Barbara Kingsolver, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, has opened a women's recovery residence in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to help women overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
👉 The facility offers a supportive environment for women to stay while learning to live without drugs 👉 Residents have found affirmation from a cohort of women who understand how addiction can demoralize a person and estrange them from family and community 👉 The facility provides a range of services and support in an area devastated by addiction to painkilling pills and other types of opioids 👉 Residents are charged $50 a week and are encouraged to focus on saving money and paying any restitution or fines they may have from past charges
