✍️ State Library of Victoria staff are protesting a proposed restructure that would cut jobs and public-facing services in favor of digital vanity projects.
👉 39 jobs would be lost 👉 Public-facing workforce of reference librarians would be cut from 25 to 10 👉 Many publicly accessible computers would be removed 👉 Information technology roles responsible for core operations would be made redundant and outsourced 👉 No public consultation was conducted before the changes were decided upon
