✍️ Famine has spread to two regions of war-torn Sudan, including the city of el-Fasher in Darfur, where paramilitary fighters have been rampaging, according to a global hunger monitoring group.
👉 Famine has been declared in el-Fasher and Kadugli, two cities in Sudan's Darfur and South Kordofan provinces. 👉 375,000 people have been pushed into famine in these regions. 👉 6.3 million people across the country are facing extreme levels of hunger. 👉 The famine is caused by a collapse of livelihoods, starvation, and malnutrition. 👉 The IPC has called for a ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and to contain the extreme levels of acute food insecurity and malnutrition.
