✍️ The Trump administration is implementing new rules to eject nonprofits from a student loan forgiveness program if their work is deemed to have a 'substantial illegal purpose'.
👉 New rules give the Education Department expanded power to ban organizations from the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program 👉 Organizations can be expelled if they engage in activities such as illegal immigration, supporting terrorist organizations, or providing gender-affirming care 👉 Employers can be sanctioned for activities that take place on or after July 1, 2026 👉 Organizations can reapply for eligibility after 10 years or rejoin sooner if they follow a 'corrective action plan' approved by the secretary
