✍️ Teachers in two Massachusetts school districts, Beverly and Gloucester, went on strike over pay, paid parental leave, and other issues.
👉 Teachers in Beverly are demanding smaller class sizes, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and a 'living wage' for paraprofessionals. 👉 Teachers in Gloucester are seeking eight weeks of fully paid parental leave, significant pay increases for paraprofessionals, and safer conditions for students. 👉 The strikes are rare in Massachusetts, partly due to state law banning public sector employees from striking.
