✍️ Astronomers have discovered a galaxy that is surprisingly mature, with a spiral structure similar to the Milky Way, 1500 million years after the Big Bang, challenging current theories on galaxy evolution.
👉 Astronomers have discovered a galaxy with a spiral structure similar to the Milky Way 1500 million years after the Big Bang 👉 The galaxy, named Alaknanda, was discovered using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) 👉 Alaknanda has a well-defined spiral structure with two arms that wrap around a central nucleus 👉 The galaxy is forming stars at a rapid rate, with a mass equivalent to 60 suns per year 👉 The discovery challenges current theories on galaxy evolution and suggests that the processes that drive galaxy formation may be more efficient than previously thought
