✍️ A team of researchers at Sheba Medical Center has developed a personalized RNA-based therapy for a rare genetic disorder, GNAO1-neurodevelopmental disorder, which causes severe developmental delays and seizures.

👉 The therapy is the first of its kind in Israel and one of the few in the world. 👉 It uses antisense oligonucleotides (ASO) technology to target the specific genetic mutation causing the disorder. 👉 The therapy has shown promising results in laboratory tests, with a significant reduction in the expression of the mutated gene and improvement in neurological function. 👉 The team is now working to expand the treatment to more patients with rare genetic disorders.
