✍️ The Australian right whale is the protagonist of this season's sightings, attracting more visitors to Peninsula Valdés. According to an aerial monitoring report, this year's record is historic, with 2,100 individuals, including 77 groups of mating, 381 solitary individuals, and 826 mothers with their calves.
👉 2,100 Australian right whales were spotted in Peninsula Valdés this year, a historic record. 👉 The species is slow-moving, tranquil, and curious, spending most of its time on the surface and near the coast. 👉 One-third of the world's right whales use the protected bays of Peninsula Valdés, Chubut, as a habitat for mating and giving birth. 👉 The species was once endangered due to indiscriminate hunting, but conservation efforts have helped to recover its population. 👉 Visitors can see the whales from June to December, especially from El Doradillo beach and on boat tours departing from Puerto Pirámides.
