✍️ British tourists will have to wait until at least October and possibly until 2026 to use e-gates in the EU, despite a recent agreement between the UK and EU.
👉 The UK and EU agree that there will be no legal barriers to e-gate use for British nationals traveling to and from EU member states after the introduction of the EU entry/exit system (EES). 👉 The EES system is expected to be implemented in October, with a phased rollout until April 2026. 👉 The system will allow non-EU visitors, including British citizens, to use electronic entry points if they have a valid travel document, such as a passport. 👉 The system will require non-EU visitors to provide biometric data, including fingerprints and facial images, when entering the Schengen area.
