FOSSILS OF ONE OF THE OLDEST DINOSAURS ON THE PLANET FOUND IN LA RIOJA HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED. THE DINOSAUR, A MEMBER OF THE EORAPTOR FAMILY, DATES BACK TO THE TRIASSIC PERIOD, APPROXIMATELY 230 MILLION YEARS AGO. THE DISCOVERY WAS MADE BY A TEAM OF PALEONTOLOGISTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF LA RIOJA, WHO WERE EXCAVATING A SITE IN THE REGION. THE FOSSILS ARE SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE NEW INSIGHTS INTO THE EVOLUTION OF DINOSAURS AND THE EARLY HISTORY OF LIFE ON EARTH.

✍️ An Argentine research team has discovered the almost complete skeleton of a long-necked dinosaur, Huayracursor jaguensis, dating back to the Late Triassic period.
👉 The fossil is estimated to be between 230 and 225 million years old 👉 The species belongs to the primitive Sauropodomorpha group 👉 The discovery provides new insights into the early evolution of dinosaurs 👉 The fossil is exceptionally well-preserved, making it a key reference point for studying early dinosaur evolution
