👉 The kidnapping of hundreds of students from a Nigerian boarding school is part of a wave of mass kidnappings in the country. 👉 Parents of the abducted children are terrified and desperate for their safe return. 👉 The kidnappings are often carried out by criminal gangs, known as 'bandits', who see kidnapping for ransom as a quick and easy way to make money. 👉 Some rural communities have negotiated peace deals with the kidnappers, which have led to a decline in attacks in some areas. 👉 The Nigerian government has struggled to effectively combat the kidnappings, and some have questioned whether the recent surge in attacks is linked to Donald Trump's threats of military intervention in Nigeria.
