✍️ The Rio de Janeiro Fire Department rescued 1167 people from drowning during the New Year's Eve celebrations, with most of the rescues occurring in Copacabana.
👉 1167 people were rescued from drowning during the New Year's Eve celebrations in Rio de Janeiro. 👉 Most rescues took place in Copacabana, where 547 rescues were performed. 👉 The Rio de Janeiro Fire Department attributed the increase in rescues to a combination of factors, including a lack of awareness about the dangers of drowning and a cultural issue. 👉 The department reported that the majority of those rescued were young men.
