✍️ Republicans in California are proposing the creation of a new state by seceding from 35 inland counties, citing frustration with Democratic policies and lack of representation.
👉 The proposal would allow the creation of a new state under Article 3 of the US Constitution 👉 The new state would consist of 10 million people and cover most of Northern California, the Sierra Nevada, the Central Valley, and the Inland Empire 👉 Republicans argue that inland residents feel neglected and overregulated by the coastal regions 👉 The proposal would give inland residents more representation and autonomy 👉 The creation of a new state would require approval by the state Assembly and Senate, as well as Congress
