✍️ A senior journalist draws comparison between the genocide in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Gaza Strip, highlighting the dehumanization of victims and its role in enabling atrocities.
👉 The alleged 'sniper safaris' in Sarajevo during the 1990s were a form of dehumanization that enabled atrocities. 👉 Dehumanization is a global contagion that enables atrocities and must be confronted. 👉 Accountability is essential, not only for those who commit atrocities but also for those who craft the stories that make them possible. 👉 The media must recover the courage to humanize victims and insist on names, stories, and faces, even when doing so is geopolitically complicated.
