✍️ John Karlin, a registered nurse, imported a Chinese electric car, Wuling Macaron, to the US, despite the challenges and restrictions in place.
👉 Chinese electric cars are popular in many countries, but not in the US due to restrictions and tariffs. 👉 The US has a law that prohibits the import of foreign cars unless they meet US safety and emission standards. 👉 There are some exceptions to the law, such as for vehicles over 25 years old or for non-American citizens who can bring their foreign vehicle to the US temporarily. 👉 Karlin was able to import his Chinese electric car by classifying it as a low-speed vehicle and paying a significant amount for shipping, customs, and insurance.
