👉 A loud hum has been a constant backdrop in the village of Dresden, New York, due to a nearby Bitcoin mining operation. 👉 The hum is produced by the fans used to cool the computers at the Greenidge Generation power plant. 👉 The plant is producing around 40-120 Bitcoin per month, along with some energy that flows back to the grid. 👉 The issue has sparked a backlash in the US, with local officials and residents opposing further Bitcoin mining expansion. 👉 The conflict has implications for rural communities and the environment, and may pose problems for the White House's pro-cryptocurrency agenda.
